If that is not too deep, I would love to chill out, right there by the falls.
Cool Pic, thanks
It is not too deep. When you get near the deeper parts they let you know. It was so cool and refreshing.............
Nice Picture! so you survived the 109 steps and rope bridge!!!
We survived but I almost didn't survive all those steps and the climb out of there!!!!!!!!!

AWESOME picture...please post more!!!!
The climb up was brutual, but the experience of the tour and seeing the falls is worth the adventure.
And the lunch was very delicious!

The above pic is the "Washing Machine"!
Love those pics..yeah, isn't that area beautiful...I highly rec. everyone to visit....
Looks lovely. If I didn't want to go back to YS so bad, would definitely want to check it out..maybe I might do it anyway.. gorgeous pics there.
I have been there a couple times really nice, and rustic (nothing like Dunn,s River) Hope to go again in a future trip.
Pool...which one did you like more?? going there in december..
Dunn,s River was just named one of the top tourist traps in the world.lol, but if you have never gone its a must do, just try not to hit a cruise ship day. Mayfield is a must do you travel up the river bed and its very natural.Attachment 4143 Was A little different back in 1989 when I was there.
Dunns is beautiful but did it 3X and wanted to try something less strenuous (spell check)...SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I absolutely LOVED Mayfield Falls! So beautiful and so refreshing. Did you go into the little caves behind the falls at the Washing Machine? Heaven.
Great pictures
Hey Poolguy,
Can you save your bent over banana hammock pics for your close friends and relatives? Thanks!:D
I will be returning to Negril December 17th to the 24th and I am trying to decide between Mayfield and YS. How far of a trip is it to Mayfield from Negril? Do you spend a whole day there? Is the Pelican Bar far from Mayfield because I was thinking of killing two birds with one stone. I will be traveling with my wife and 22 year old son and 25 year old daughter. We all love hiking challenges. Any feedback would be appreciated.
P.S. Love the thumbs up picture.
Not sure, but I think that Pelican Bar is a lot closer to YS falls than Mayfield falls. I did both on my trip, and it was fun. :)
Mayfield Falls has always been mi Number One recommendation for a tour.......
you can't beat the place, the price nor the fun that you have there........
plus it gives you penty of time to do stuff the same day in Negril..........tuff to beat
Cool Runnings, Marko
The second time I went to Mayfield I brought a whole bus load of first timers, was not sure how it would go over. They thought it was the highkight of the trip.Attachment 4237
If you like hiking...you'll probably enjoy Mayfield Falls more. You can do both Mayfield & Pelican in one day...but you'll end up spending a lot of time on the road as they're quite a distance apart from each other. If you visit Mayfield only and leave around 9am...you can be comfortably back in Negril by mid afternoon.
YS Falls & Pelican are more commonly visited on the same day as they are located a short distance from each other....you'll be back by late afternoon or early evening from this excursion.
Have fun!
we actually left for mayfield at 9 and got back at 3. the road is so bad/non-existant, when you get up the mountain, the driver had to go one mile an hour for about an hr!!!!!!!!!!!
the champagne bubbles pool!
did not go into the caves the washing machine was so intense i could only stand next to it.....
