Too Hot To Handle
Returning in April this year with some newbies to the area. Looking for some ideas for restaurants that have food selections that are not spicy for my son. (stomach issues) Big man with good appetite but some what picky. He might do some fish but that won't last long. Burgers and a little pizza work for him which I'm familiar with on the cliffs. Staying on the beach but usually end up on the west end for dinners. Not as familiar with the beach selections as I am with the cliffs. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Too Hot To Handle
Lot's of places have their entire menu on their web sites. Take a look at Seastar. Lots of North American type options as well as local favourites. They have nice pizza and their half pound cheese-burgers are huge. Fries, Poutine, home-made soups.
Many places have what your son is looking for.

Re: Too Hot To Handle
Kuyaba
Coconut International
Sun Beach
Margaritaville
Cosmos
Ahhbees on the cliffs....best burger in Jamaica.

Re: Too Hot To Handle
I'll second SeaStar. They have a lot of American\Canadian food on their menu. You may also want to check out the Italian cafe. Teddy's at Blue Cave Castle will prepare dishes to order so you can get fish chicken etc prepared how you want. A lot of places also offer pasta.
You shouldn't have problem finding something.

Re: Too Hot To Handle
I haven't ever been able to find a good burger on the beach, unless you want to pay more than it's worth at Margaritaville. And even then, I thought it was a mediocre burger. As far as pizza on the beach, Chances is really good. I think that Ciao Jamaica delivers anywhere also.

Re: Too Hot To Handle
When the rice stops absorbing the beer and I'm all road chicken'd out, there is always Negril BK. Sounds crazy but even BK tastes better in Jamaica.

Re: Too Hot To Handle
try Sunset after Dark for the best burgers ever, they also deliver, soon come

Re: Too Hot To Handle
Here's a challenge....That one pound burger at Sunset after dark is HUGE! Are ya man enough??? Be like Wimpy....c'mon doesn't even have to be a Tuesday!

Re: Too Hot To Handle
mi live der half the time.......so mi watch how much mi spend when mi do go out......
but the biggest bang for mi dollars in Negril is...........
SeaView aka Corner Bar......by the One Love Drive Sign
German Bar for Pizza on the West End Rd......beside da Canoe
Kenny's at Errols Sunset on beach road......
Pablo's up by SamSara on da Cliffs......
Three Dives for Jerk Chicken......
Red Dragon for Jerk Pork........and coldest Red Stripe Beers in Negril
Honorable Mention...
goes to Chicken Lavish...........
you can't get better Conch Soup than theirs......and the Sweet n Sour Chicken and Fried Chicken is the best in Negril......prices are reasonable
Cool Runnings, Marko

Re: Too Hot To Handle
I'll also second Pablo's and Chicken lavish as suggested by Marko.
Pablo's cooks most dishes to order like Teddy and is a bit more reasonable.

Re: Too Hot To Handle
Most restaurants have mild options. Can't say enough good about Ciao Jamaica. Pick up and return free. One thing Jamaica doesn't get enough credit for is fried chicken. Try Jah Bs on the Beach road across from Rooms. Really inexpensive. Swordfish has mild offers and amazing Mac & cheese as does CW country bar.

Re: Too Hot To Handle
Marko, now I've never had the conch soup at Chicken Lavish, but I have had the curried conch meal, and that was delicious! I had a bowl of conch soup at Cosmos, and that my friend was out of this world! I practically was licking the bowl clean! I'm just sayin' Respect One Love

Re: Too Hot To Handle
I have a question. I had a chance to experience grilled conch in the Bahamas and I loved it! Anywhere in Negril I can find that??? Conch fritters I've realized.......not a fan of. I am getting there after lobster season so I'm trying to get my seafood fix:(

Re: Too Hot To Handle
Angelas at Bar-B-Barn has great pizza and pasta dishes. And Kenny's at Errols(Next to Travellers) for some killer Chinese.
-
Re: Too Hot To Handle
I will also vote for Keney's Chinese between Negril Beach Club & Travellers at Errols.. BIG plate of food - very reasonable and very good. Chicken Lavisjh is an Institution on West End road and the Fried and Sweet & Sour Chicken are outstanding . Also Sunset after Dark has the best burgers (1/4 lb or the 1 pound) and Patrick has a number of other chicken finger and Honey garlic Chicken options lighter fare !

Re: Too Hot To Handle
Another Chicken Lavish vote, their food, all of it is very good and he prices in J$$ and it is beyond reasonable. He raises his own chickens, so you know you are getting the good stuff. His conch soup will bring you back from the dead.
Sunset after Dark - Try the Red Stripe Fish and Chips. I've had fried fish all over the world and this was about the best I have ever had. Those burgers are so big they will scare you so I didn't try one. I've talked to couples who split one and they say it is hard to finish.

Re: Too Hot To Handle
We had the one pound burger at Sunset After Dark...it was soo good we went back on our last night. Great fish tacos also. Owner Patrick is a genuine nice guy. He even gave us his cell number and would deliver food if we wanted down to Seven Mile Beach resorts.
