Resturant Close to Rick's
Looking for ideas of resturants close to Rick's. We would like to go to see the cliff divers/sunset but, want suggestions for dinner. Are there restuants to walk to or do you need a cab. Nothing fancy because if we do swim us ladies won't be all dolled up. Thanks

Re: Resturant Close to Rick's
LTU or Ivan's. Don't worry about fancy in Negril, nothing is.

Re: Resturant Close to Rick's
LTU, CATCHA FALLING STAR, Seastar Inn you can have dinner right at the swim up bar great food and very casual

Ivan's at Catcha Falling Star. I posted a few pics in the report I posted.

Another vote for LTU. Try Shark's for a roadside Jamaica experience. Also check out Murphy's (Should be within walking distance of Rick's).
Ivan's is the nicest restaurant of the bunch, but still casual.

We like Sharks and Murphys and also seastar was not impressed with LTU when we were there

Re: Resturant Close to Rick's
LTU and Ivans are on the fancier side but Negril is very casual so don't let your attire keep you away. Seastar is not as fancy. I guess you could think of LTU and Ivans as fine casual dinning and Seastar as casual dinning. You can take a cab from Rick's to anywhere on the west end and it will run about $5US per couple (make sure you negotiate price before getting in the car). You can always see if the restaurant you want to go to offers free pickup and then it won't cost you anything if you need a ride to get there.

LTU. Just a little walk (2 mins or less) time is relative to amount of rum punches consumed at Rick's. Attachment 41464

Ltu gets our vote! Just a short stroll from Rick's. The pumpkin soup is delicious.

Re: Resturant Close to Rick's
Murphys is really good. We had dinner for four for under $75, including red stripes.
Ivan's is fantastic as well, but a bit more spendy. Lots better service/ambience as well.

Re: Resturant Close to Rick's
Sharks ... If you love curried goat !!!! LTU is cool but a bit pricey IMHO... I still go there a lot though!! And you can get the sunset without going to Ricks at all.....

Re: Resturant Close to Rick's
Thanks I added these to my things to do in Negril. The list is growing.

Re: Resturant Close to Rick's
While you're are it.....
If you get tired of expensive drinks and the crowd at Rick's you can always walk down the road to Firewater and get the same sunset and cheaper drinks. Plus you'll probably run into the Pub Crawl since Lenbert usually stops there for sunset. Just a suggestion.

I agree JnB, Shark's curried goat is legit. If you do visit watch out for the Shark, it goes for the head:p
