We visited Miss G's sister at CoCo La Palm. The two bedroom suite was very nice. Right on the beach

Spa Retreat - i was not so keen on.
Pretty pricey for Travellers - but i have not seen their suites - and there is not a lot of beach front there.
Beach Club villa, Rondel, treehouse, country country..
if you need a driver call 1-876-863-0715 red plated taxi, name is Patrick i have used him for years - tell him karen sent u :) enjoy Negril
Re: Nicest Hotel on 7 Mile
The nicest hotels are probably ones I can't afford. From what I've seen on walkthroughs, Idle Awhile is very nice as is Charela.
I also hear that Sandy Haven is very nice, but very expensive.
Re: Nicest Hotel on 7 Mile
surprised so few mention Charela....is is clearly the gem of the beach IMHO
Re: Nicest Hotel on 7 Mile
Have you checked out Negril Tree House Resort? We have stayed there 5 times now & they are awesome! Beautiful grounds, freshwater pool, restuarant /bar right on the beach, gym, and the friendliest staff you'll ever find. Can't forget the free breakfast that will wow you!!!!😎😎😎😎😎😎
Re: Nicest Hotel on 7 Mile
My favorite on the beach is Idle Awhile. I must say that the owners Villa at Nirvana also looks nice, but I have no personal experience staying there. Those would be my top two for non AI.
Re: Nicest Hotel on 7 Mile
Don't bother with Sandy Haven, a friend of mine stayed there this January when we were at Idle Awhile. He hated it. They discourage you from bringing your own booze, deal breaker for us.
The rooms are more modern and nicer at IA compared to Nirvana, but you can't beat the direct beach access of the Owner's Villa with a great covered patio right on the beach.
Re: Nicest Hotel on 7 Mile
I agree with saeyedoc... Stayed at Sandy Haven 10 days last year when Ccco was full... big $$ Would never go back...definitely not a high end luxury boutique resort...

Wish it was still For Real. That's too bad.
Re: Nicest Hotel on 7 Mile
Great feedback thus far!
The Owners Villa at Nirvana looks great and is at the high end of the budget at $350 per night.
I think I may go this direction....
Also looking at:
* Rondel - Beachfront One Bedroom Villa - $300 Per Night
* Idle Away - Junior Suite - $310 Per Night
* Beach House Villa's - Penthouse Suite - $343 Per Night
* Treehouse - Kitchenette Room - $225 (The gardenview is $350.. I would get the Nirvana for that price)
* Coco LaPalm - 2Bedroom Suite - $304
All of these seem very nice and are within my budget.

I'm not a tourist but I think the the Coco Villa is a wonderful place. And the price seems OK too.

Re: Nicest Hotel on 7 Mile
Charela....my final answer
Re: Nicest Hotel on 7 Mile
Also agree with captaind...Would be real hard to beat that suite at Coco..
Re: Nicest Hotel on 7 Mile
Also, when I was there last week, they had some construction/ renovation going on in that suite... Not sure exactly what they were doing....
Re: Nicest Hotel on 7 Mile
Coco seems to attract an older demographic, so keep that in mind if it is important to you and you are young. I would go with Nirvana over any of the other options any day. Nirvana does not have a bar/restaurant on property if that is a want. However, you have numerous options close by and if staying in the Owners Suite I believe you get one meal a day cooked for free, you just need to provide the supplies. If you are leaning towards Nirvana you will need to book quickly, as it fills up a long ways out.
Guest to beach ratio is the best I have seen in Negril.
Re: Nicest Hotel on 7 Mile
I have stayed at Nirvana about 12 times. The lower verandah suite sits right next to the owners cottage. The view is amazing!! The room is very spacious, has a mini kitchen with a full size refrigerator, and has air conditioning. The security and staff there are first rate! There are no bars or restaurants on the property which means no foot traffic. It's very peaceful. White Sands is right next door at has two for one drink specials daily. And there are lots of places to eat on either side.
Good grief- I sound like a commercial! Lol!!
Re: Nicest Hotel on 7 Mile
So many choices. My faves are Treehouse and Charela.
Re: Nicest Hotel on 7 Mile
Re: Nicest Hotel on 7 Mile
Charela Inn. They have the best beach. Request a room in the newest building.
Re: Nicest Hotel on 7 Mile
We stayed in the 1-BR beachfront villa at Rondel - liked the suite, and we like the way the hotel is run (stayed before in a "superior" room), but the beach area is unshaded and smallish (esp. since they added more rooms) and the noise from "The Jungle" two nights/week really bugged me. We are leaning toward Charela next time, although we would prefer to have a kitchen.
