HOW do the Jamaican people DO what they-do to live here..??..

this question
has been on my mind since ''forever''.

to this from-foreign brain, mind & body, *they* are simply-put:::>>> Amaze-ing..!!... [[ period ]]

the *stuff* that life throws at people
is like water off a ducks back
to the Ja-folks i've met, watched, observed, etc etc.

for example,
this humidity (these days) is wicked
:-(
weather today has been heavily clouded
and humid .... temperature not bad

i spent the day
innna yard
chattin' with my landlord

just chillin'
wasn't hungry.
he tried to make me eat this & that

finally broke down and shared one of the TOO-TOO sweet likkle Ja-pineapples, which had juice running all over the place.

"..Come outside !!! ... don't eat it inside.."<<:: he told me

that pineapple juice would have caused all kinds of problems,
if it dripped onto the floor or someplace:::: e.g., bugs, fruit flies, ants, what-ever ... plus a whole lot of nastiness to clean up.

dunno what this place does to food, crops, produce, and the meat & fish:::::: it ALL is sooooooooooooooo good .... much better

i've been here seven-SHORT-days, thus far
...time fly-ing too fast

arrived with some kind of weird bad-knee *issues*
...knew NOW 99% better

* sigh *

Come to Jamaica with whatever bothering you from-foreign
and
Jamaica will cure and/or make it better, ,,, Trus me..!!..

landlord reminded me that his mother wants me to come to her 80th birthday party and take some pictures.... Thursday....'bout 2-pm .... at the police station .... upstairs.

his mom has been doing all kinds of *work*::::: cleaning, laundry, etc etc ....... for the police, judges, big-men & big-women all over town, and beyond,,, even as far as MoBay

me-SAY:::>> "...how long she been doing this.."
he-SAY::>> "..every since i was born.."

his soon to be 80 year old mom is UN-believe-able-ly FIT.
...watching how she moves about, and the things she does blows my mind
......so much energy, stamina, etc
..........you'd think she was 'bout 50 ... not 80

i hardly ever see her
she's always out & about
doing this job and that

the last-Saturday
i gave her some of my mother's dresses, and things.

later,
she came by the house,
with a big big grin
showing off one of her new dress

i wanted to cry
....dress fitted PERFECT-ly
...........reminded me of my 90-year old mom who died this past January.

nevertheless,

WITH the police
has me nervous

me no know if we want to be that close to them
ummmmmmmmmmmm
then again,
it *might* work to my benefit, na tru.

Bill, my deepest condolences on the loss of your Mother. I only spoke to her once on the phone a few years back and she was very nice. She would be very happy to know someone appreciates her dresses!

is doing *something* ((??)) BIG
construction wise

in fact,
ALL over Negril
there's demolition
renovation
etc etc.

it's as if they tearing down
the entire town
and starting fresh

gonna need a new map, GPS, and everything for the coming high-season

i saw at least two popular all inclusives being torn down and being rebuilt.

Bill, you hit home with me when you mentioned your Mom and how Jamaica brings healing. I went through something very similar earlier this year. I brought some of my Mom's things to transfer her love of life to others. it brought me many smiles and tears along the way.

Great videos! Sorry for the loss of your Mom, smith744, I lost mine last May. It's a strange and sad feeling....
