Hi there! We've been to Negril many times, but never stayed at Sunset at the Palms or in Bloody Bay. Are there some things we should know? Fun things we should do? We're going in December and I can hardly wait!

i loved, loved my two stays at sunset!! it's laid back, beautifully created and maintained property! nightly entertainment but not running late and "easy" . . . it's relaxing . . .. the pool is just right . . . the food is good, not massive choices, just enough, considering the size of property . . . even when full, you don't get feel of full . . . fabulous service for jamaica!! was run by a woman when i stayed there. never saw a staff member with their cell!! . . . turn down service nightly . . . daybed on your porch . . .
If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing stay, you picked the right place. SATP and Bloody Bay are both WAY less hectic than the main beach.
I have heard they have a strict no-smoking policy.
no smoking herb in public areas, but ok on your own porch . . .
Can you confirm this? There was a thread here not too long ago of someone who received a letter in their room stating that any ganja smoking would not be tolerated and the police would be informed, and you would be removed from the property. Has this changed? The place looks really nice and I've seen some decent deals...Quote:

SATP is an incredible property and has been in Negril for years, it was originally known as Negril Cabins. It was there long before there was anything on Bloody Bay and it is awesome. If you are looking for a place with above average accommodations in an AI with a real Jamaican environment in comparison to the others, this is the place. Make sure you spend some time at the Office of Nature, a bar/haunt just a short walk to the right(NE) when facing to bay. Enjoy.
Oh yea, SATP is an AI but, have a meal at Cosmos as well, many say You haven't been to Negril without going to Rick's, for us, it's Cosmo Browns place.
We bought the Groupon a few days ago...great deal! I've wanted to stay at SATP for a while, but it has always been a bit out of our price range...the Groupon made it work! I'm so pumped!Quote:

I just contacted them about this and in this case it is only the $2/day as stated on the groupon. But you are right, some of them charge the 20%...I looked at some other deals that clearly stated that.Quote:

the cops are not coming for less than 2 ounces of pot since decriminalization - smoking cigarettes is more of a crime (hotel fine)
