Re: Treehouse Living Social Deal, travel until Nov 30/16
I deduct what I'd pay for transfers off the total price before calculating nightly rate - that's a big part of the savings!
If buying, please go through my link above to sign in, thanks :)

Stopped by Tree House last June and really liked the property.
How do you book for seven nights?
Thanks,

Re: Treehouse Living Social Deal, travel until Nov 30/16
The deal says that vouchers cannot be combined to extend stay, so you can get a 3, 4, or 5 night stay.
Hopefully Gail will confirm and/or let you know what additional nights may cost (may vary according to high or low season). I like to go for at least 10 nights and like to spend some nights on the cliffs, so 5 nights works fine for me. That means that I'll be able to take advantage of the included transfer one way only, but that's still good.

Re: Treehouse Living Social Deal, travel until Nov 30/16
Yes you can combine Living Social vouchers just not with Groupon
-
Re: Treehouse Living Social Deal, travel until Nov 30/16
Purchase a 3 + 4 night voucher
-
Re: Treehouse Living Social Deal, travel until Nov 30/16
is the 20% tax calculated on regular price of the room?
-
Re: Treehouse Living Social Deal, travel until Nov 30/16
I've used one before at TH and it is on the price you paid, not the regular price - as shown in hille141's chart above.
Thanks hille141 BTW, great to have your handy chart to refer to!

Re: Treehouse Living Social Deal, travel until Nov 30/16
Does Treehouse offer these regularly? It's good till Nov 2016 so I'm sure I'd use it, but already booked for this winter. Maybe time to rack up the travel points and plan another trip?

Can you upgrade to an ocean view room? Are these standard garden view rooms close to the road that you book thru the living social deal? Have only stayed at Coco and CSA. Have wanted to stay here and am planning on a trip to Negril in March or April, Is there a lot of dates still available?

Yes you can upgrade to an Oceanview Suite or Room and pay the difference. I suggest doing that asap, we currently have availability for both months. I personally would get a suite. The view and space Attachment 42231

Re: Treehouse Living Social Deal, travel until Nov 30/16
wow, beautiful view. What is the price increase with the living social deal. I bought the 5 night deal today. Not sure if I am going to get another 3 night or stay up on the cliffs. Still deciding. But so excited I bought the living social deal which means I am really heading to Jamaica again. I will be booking the dates within the next day or 2. Then I will book the flights.
-
Re: Treehouse Living Social Deal, travel until Nov 30/16
Best to contact them for availability on your desired dates. They're booked up the middle weekend in January, my first choice.

Re: Treehouse Living Social Deal, travel until Nov 30/16
I am looking at late November - or early October 2016. I know Oct is quiet in Negril so likely not much happening. Does anyone know if there is any festivals or concerts in the works for November 2016?
-
Re: Treehouse Living Social Deal, travel until Nov 30/16
I know Gail serves all her guests a big American Thanksgiving feast! I don't know of any particular festivals or concerts then, but there's always live music around. Concerts would not be announced until shortly before.

Re: Treehouse Living Social Deal, travel until Nov 30/16
I'm considering getting 2 - 5 night vouchers. However, we would be two adults traveling with three teenagers (two rooms). What would the additional cost be as I really couldn't do a third room for one of my teens (not a good idea safetywise). We are planning on mid-March 2016. Thanks!

I would suggest purchasing 2 vouchers/ night and I will give you a gardenview suite, check availability first March is super busy. an additional cost for a third person would be $50/ night for an extra bed and transport round trip as the Living Social Deal is for 2/ room including transfers. Best thing about the suite is it have a refrigerator, microwave and 2 bathrooms. Love to host your family
Thank you
Gail

Re: Treehouse Living Social Deal, travel until Nov 30/16
Natty The suites are amazing. Spacious and private you have your bedroom and ensuite bathroom (huge) and the teenagers have the run of house with two Murphy beds. If I'm not mistaken the master bedroom has its own access. I wouldn't hesitate to pay 50$ plus. A teenager at a buffet breakfast would justify that alone!!!
-
Re: Treehouse Living Social Deal, travel until Nov 30/16
Yes, the suites are fantastic. There is an exterior door off the bedroom and the living area with Murphy beds opens to the balcony. There's a couch, table and chairs, hammock chairs and a shared hammock on the balcony. Super spacious. Livingsocial has a great refund policy, you have 30 days from purchase in which to get a full refund if you can't get dates to work, or any other reason.

When you click the link I provided in the first post, it shows how many days are remaining. As of today it's 10. If you decide to purchase, please log in/sign up via that link as it was provided to me after buying the day it came out, and LS offers a nice bonus for me, if 3 people buy via that link. And if you buy, you're provided the same opportunity. Pay it forward! Thx!!

Re: Treehouse Living Social Deal, travel until Nov 30/16
Already purchased via your link. Was asking for a friend. I couldn't see anywhere the number of days remaining. Thanks!

Re: Treehouse Living Social Deal, travel until Nov 30/16
Gail (or anyone else who has stayed and remembers), do the one bedroom suites have a couple of burners to do some cooking? I know there's a microwave, fridge and sink. I suggested this deal to friends, and one lady has to be very careful as she cannot eat any wheat products, would likely cook some of her own meals if she finds it not easily accommodated in restaurants.
-
Re: Treehouse Living Social Deal, travel until Nov 30/16
Hi Melody,
I would expect that your friend could probably get plenty of gluten free meals out. I would recommend to have her stress to the chef that she has a gluten allergy, and that none of her food can come into contact with anything that has touched gluten, including food prep areas, utensils and cooking areas, pots and pans.
All seafood is naturally GF, so she would just need to make sure that there is nothing added that would contain gluten. Rice and beans are GF.
I would imagine some soups or stews would possibly use flour to thicken a bit. Of course she'd need to avoid patties (I would guess these are flour?) but the chef at each place would know best what is used in everything they offer.
Good luck... I know eating out and needing to be GF can be daunting.

I told her that...she seems to have the idea to rule out Jamaica bc of food. Not true, I know, but wanted to give her the option of cooking some for herself too.

I did find that a lot of restaurants in Aruba were most accommodating in regards to eating GF.
I cannot say for Jamaica from personal experience, November will be my first trip there. But from looking at a lot of menus, there are enough things that are naturally GF there.

Yes all suites have a 2 burner glass cooktop or combo fridge / stove. Kitchenettes have a full stove with oven and refrigerator. Both units have microwaves. Cooking utensils of your choice can be provided just request what is needed.( Blender, toaster, coffee maker, knive set, pots and pans, storage containers)
