Quiet Place to Chill for a few days?
Looking for a place for a few days before we check into our 7-mile beach hotel. Specifically looking for 03 - 06 February 2016.
Want a quiet pretty location, 2 twin beds, clean with private bathroom, no air conditioning, with convenient place for good breakfast/dinner.
Considering following, but would be grateful for recommendations and other good suggestions:
1. Half moon beach - seems most convenient on way to Negril.
2. Somewhere near Negril lighthouse- hadn't been there in many years.
3. Somewhere in Treasure Beach - never been there.
4. Or even somewhere in the mountains.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.
Frank

Frank, would you consider Seastar Inn?
Re: Quiet Place to Chill for a few days?
I believe that this location meets all of your requirements:

thought your pic looks familiar. So where did they build like in the front yard area?

Right as you pull in through their gate type substance, there it is. It really obstructs the view of the mountains, and is just too crowded on the property.

Beautiful, quiet and chill property past the lighthouse...Tingalaya's Retreat.

I would try Tingalaya's . I've had my eye on this place. It looks so relaxing.

Hi frankk,
I used to live in Treasure Beach at a small, quiet guesthouse. You might like to check this out.

Thank you all for the great suggestions.
I decided to send a note to "Irie Guest House" for booking because I never stayed in that area before (but always wanted to). Looks like a nice change of pace before our usual on 7 mile beach in Negril.
Have a good one!

Citronella on the West End. Very quiet and private. Sunbathe and swim nude if you want. Thatch roof, no AC. Just the ocean breeze. Private staircase into the water. Staff will take care of anything you need.
Re: Quiet Place to Chill for a few days?
There is no restaurant on site, but Collette will cook your meals there for you and her cooking is great! You will get a key to your cottage (only 5 on property) and a key to the gate that is kept locked all hours. Ricks is a couple spots over so you can watch from your porch without going there. You can also walk to Wise Choice or Lighthouse from there
Re: Quiet Place to Chill for a few days?
I'd already committed to stay at "Irie Rest House" in treasure beach for those three days (03-06Feb). I hope to give them a great review on this board when I get back.
With that said, Citronella also sounds nice and I think I'll visit that property to consider them for a future trip.
I'd like to thank everyone again for all the great recommendations.
Frank
(P.S. - I had to edit this note because original had a horrible spellcheck error.)

Good one hippiegirl, Citronella reminded me of lakeside cottages in northern wisconsin if it were in the tropics :)

Greetings frank,
I think you made a good choice in Irie Rest. Here is a link to some of my stories where I talk about Billy's Bay, Irie Rest etc.. This was in 2001 but I was back last year for a visit and things don't change much around there. The story is towards the bottom of that page. Hope you enjoy.
