we have never saw many, I would think all the natural fibers would be out, as with the Humidity so high, maybe like Rayon or such would work
FDR Pebbles in Falmouth had carpet in the rooms! Not sure why?
I'm thinking maybe the AI properties like Sandals would have carpet in the rooms for those folk that want that 'home away from home feeling' although I don't get why! :)
The TS units at the Beach Club had carpet years ago (mid-late 80's). Thankfully it was removed & replaced w/ tile.
Moisture and mold I would assume is the reason carpet isn't used.
Ah yes Tile............."nothing slicker in the Universe then Negril Tile when "damp".....lolAttachment 4356

Aweome picture Rambo! I know tehre is a resort in Bahamas that has carpet in every room and they are right on the beach!! kinda gross!! with sand and everything!
Gran Bahia Princepe in Runaway bay has carpet in all the hallways, really ugly LasVegas style stuff!
I've seen many homes with carpeting - one with carpeting and beautiful velvet drapes - in Mandeville where the climate is cooler. Mostly in the homes of very wealthy and/or returned residents who grew used to carpeting living overseas.
Carpet and beach sand/seawater don't mix.
Would get funky pretty fast.
One time we took some things down in space bags. The people we took it to thought they were really neat and wanted them. When they asked how to compress them we told them a vacuum cleaner...they couldn't think of anyone they knew that had a vacuum!
would be nice to hear from Ire Lita and/or Coopie.............Carpet is their way of making a living, they might have some insight on this subject.........as mentioned, it would be better in places like Mandeville...........where in fact we took a "illegal" tour of the Ex Mayor of Mandelville "estate" home........shaped like a octagon.....here is Jules in stairwell..........
and found carpet in 90% of the place..........
There used to be a hotel on the beach, not sure of the name, Palms something? Anyway, the room photos looked kind of fancy, and it looked to me, like there was carpeting on the floor...
