Quick questions about Samsara resort...
Whaagwann? Just curious...have you stayed at Samsara? Your thoughts..Do's & don'ts....AI option with exchange privileges at Legends good..bad? The vibe? The management? Do you get Red Stripe in the bottle? Will they make French Toast for my wife at breakfast? Your input is appreciated. Thanks

Hey farmer I was at the White Sands last year saw your stickers everywhere. I stayed at Samsara the year before for a few days its a nice place kind of quiet they have a shuttle everyday that will take you to legends and you can use the beach. As far as red stripe its only on tap. If it was me I would skip the AI option.
Re: Quick questions about Samsara resort...
I don't think ..that's Red Stripe ..on tap

If you would have looked a little closer, you would have seen that Real Rock is no longer being brewed...

From 2012:
"Big City Brewing Company, former maker of Real Rock Beer, Yardy Shandy, Roots Malta, Lion Heart Stout and an alcoholic ginger beer for the local market, went into liquidation more than a year ago."

Samsara and Legends serve Red Stripe and Red Stripe Light.
Re: Quick questions about Samsara resort...
Spent a couple nights here two years ago, and have posted about my experience. Property is nice, rooms are basic, if you have a problem with your room (such as water leaking through the light fixture onto the toilet) it won't get fixed no matter how much you complain, but they will ask you to check out early so they can fix it for the next guest. We literally could not sit on the toilet without getting dripped on.
The A/C made more noise than cold air.
No requests at meals for AI, it's all served from a steam table. Lots of hockey puck hamburgers and the like.
The hot tub is full of green water (or was when I was there).
I found that the Red Stripe on tap didn't taste anything like Red Stripe, and I thought it was flat. Rob assures us though that it IS Red Stripe, and that the tap lines are cleaned regularly (I personally don't believe it, not based on the taste).
Didn't find the people friendly at all.
Safe boxes are not in the rooms, are at the front desk. Not convenient at all.
We did like the sun beds, and there is a sufficient amount of shady places to relax along the cliffs (not the case at other places).
It all comes down to "you get what you paid for".
Re: Quick questions about Samsara resort...
I stayed at Samsara for the first time in May of this year. I loved it. The staff is wonderful and very nice. My room was clean everyday. I had a superior room with a/c. I didn't have any problems while I was there. The food is good. The property might be older but it is always kept clean. I didn't drink the beer. I was too busy with the mix drinks that are part of the all-inclusive package. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. :)
Re: Quick questions about Samsara resort...
I've stayed at the samsara... Good property... I remember seeing ziggy, yellow man and maxipriest back in the day... I don't do AI, personally...my experience is that when the smaller more boutique hotels offer AI packages the food offerings can be somewhat minimal... Drinking usually cut off at 10 pm... I just don't think it's worth it... Paying for the AI tends to make people stay to get their 'money's worth' which can prevent them from seeing how Negril is just so incredibly awesome!
Re: Quick questions about Samsara resort...
I almost stayed there a few years ago AL,had gotten a real good deal through Cheap Caribbean. On arriving and checking into the room it was very basic, It was supposed to be a king bed and it was 2 twins. We checked out the AC, it didn't work. Checked out the water in the bathroom, it barely trickled out of the shower. While I went to the office to straighten the problem out my boyfriend and Jamaican friend went to grab some lunch. They said it was terrible. After dealing with a very unfriendly gal at the front desk I called CC and wanted to go to a different hotel. The front desk said that it would be 3 days b4 they could change the room nothing was available. We didn't even see more than 3 other couples on the property. Since we were only there for 4 nites this was just not going to work. CC got us moved to Legends on the beach. Basically it was clean. The bed was hard as a rock. At least the pool had water in it, oh forgot to mention Samsaras pool had no water and neither did the hot tub. The food was ok, just basic, not Jamaican. Had a few things that were good but only because I knew the cook from other visits to Jamaica. I have been going to Jamaica for 18 years now and have stayed at nice AL's to mom and pop places. AL's are great if you are big drinkers, I personally like getting out and meeting the people and love the experience of eating at local places. I rent a scooter to get around most of the time or I have a private driver. There are so many nicer please to stay in my opinion. We then had reservations at Idle Awhile for 4 more days after that. I am heading to Jamaica in 21 days for 2 weeks. I am trying out a new place this trip called County County , but I know the owners of the hotel and have stayed at their sister hotel in MoBay several times and have never been disappointed. Guess it all boils down to how much you want to spend and how luxurious you want it. Whatever you decide to do once you are hooked on Jamaica you just keep going back! Have a great time. 😎

Stayed at Xtabi in January. It's right down the street and is an awesome place. Never been to Samsara so I couldn't tell you anything about it. Read the reviews on trip advisor for both places.
