planning another trip to Negril.... Xtabi has been on the bucket list...
These are the only two cottages that interest me
They seem like they are the best
Any pics of these 2 cottages would be great and your thoughts, even better

cottage 4 best steps to the upper lever , the steps in #1unless its changed was quite a challenge unless they have changed them, you won't regret it but # 4 is hard to book on last minute, there used to b a tears waitng
# 4 by far if you can get it , has regular stairs the other is steps straight up thru a hole in the floor , not too bad unless you have a bad back like me, but kind of a challenge going up in down, it may have changed since then but don't know, used to be a year waiting list to get #4 , gl you wont regret # 4 at all a very nice place. we had a boardies party there 1 year at # 4
Stayed in 4 this May. Loved it! I wouldn't pick #1 because of the ladder to the bedroom.

3 is our favorite. Set back a little but still has great view. Never had a problem using the stairs for 4 to the sea. I don't think many guests view these as their personal stairs. The best perk of 3 is its the only one with a covered patio. Lunch under it in the rain is great.
SandT CHI -- I'm so glad you chimed in. We are booked in #3 in November and I was a bit sad about it. I was pretty determined not to risk going without AC, and 1 & 4 don't have it, so 3 was my safe bet. You have made me feel SO much better about it! Would love to see any inside/outside/view pics you may have!Quote:

Awesome pics! Thanks for sharing! They have upgraded the cottage since then, and it now has AC. Sooooo looking forward to November!
All of the cottages are nice, 4 and 1 have the best view but the others are also nice and cost less. If I was staying there again I would try to get #6, the access to the sea is better and it also has a great view. There is a ladder to the water from #1 but it's not great the best place to get in is just below #6 or jump off the cliff!
If you had to choose between Xtabi & Catcha which would you choose?
Haven't stayed in either, but have visited both. I don't have much to offer, but I did want to say - I think the experience is quite different between Catcha and Xtabi. I think Catcha (not Gardens) is a little more luxurious. I think Xtabi accommodations are a bit more basic.
I have stayed at both properties and they each have their perks. Catcha is more private and upscale, but I really liked Xtabi. Really depends on what you are looking for.

I've stayed in 3 once and 4 twice. Have also stayed in their rooms across the street too. Each time was the best time ever! I choose 4 if it's available, more private, and the other rooms didn't have cooking accommodations ( may have changed). I found I did not need ac in room 3, but sleeping upstairs in 4 was warm enuf for ac, and the rooms across the street upstairs needed ac. Wonder how many ppl have violated that sofa in 4 ????
We have stayed in both Xtabi and CFS. We really like both places. Xtabi is more laid back. And more rustic. Cluff side cottages have no TV or radio. We love those rooms. I would have no problem staying across the road. We like CFS a little better. The property is closed to the public during the day. I believe there is like 16 rooms so the property is never crowded. The staff here is simply top notch. They make you feel like family. Everyone from the front desk, to bartenders to the gardeners. Some of the rooms are expensive, some aren't. You can't go wrong with either. We have done split stays between the two.
Stayed in 4 in April 2015. Great room and view. By 3pm the room gets very hot and does not have air. I was unable to sleep in the loft so I slept on the sofa. I need air conditioning when I sleep.
