2:30
Thanks Moose...is that for both Friday and Sunday? Wish we could make it for the get together on the 15th but we will be just getting in at that time. Going to shoot for later in the week when we're down on the beach.
Not sure... I found a photo of their sign saying jam session 2:30. If you get in and can make it down later on, some of us might be around.

We were catching the show on Wednesday afternoons at 2:30 back in February. Loved those buckets of beers.
Show starts around 2:30pm and was still going when we left just after 7pm last night. Currently the shows are on Fridays and Sundays. Bucket of beer is now 1600j and all other beer is 2000j for a bucket. 2 for 1 rum punch is still 400j.
How many in a bucket? 6?
Yes! 6 in a bucket!
Should have said...bucket of Red Stripe beer...it's always the cheapest beer here...other than Talawah beer but you won't find it in most bars.
our favorite bar on the beach, cheap beer, great entertainment, if you want a descent seat arrive by 2:00, will be back in Feb. soon come
We will see you there Rob..
Reasonable beer prices. I had an interesting experience there once. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this. When I went to the restroom, they were charging to use it. I know this can often be a practice in Jamaica, but I don't remember this practice previously at a bar where I was purchasing drinks. Is this typical at Drifter's or was it an isolated case?
I just returned from Negril Oct. 22nd and Drifters was only doing Friday and Sunday shows. Luddy was hopeful to start up Wed. soon, maybe when high season starts up. Spent my birthday there and had a great time! Also went 2 other times. Show starts up around 2:30 - 3:00pm and goes until about 7pm. Rum punch were 2 for 1 and nice and strong! There is a young lady that sings and she is only 18 and has the most amazing voice. You must go, I am sure you will have a great time.
You must of got scammed, Luddy's wife even told my friend and I where the better ladies room was. I have never been charged to use a restroom in Jamaica in the 18 years I have been going there.
Someone needed beer money if you paid them for use of the restrooms as they do not charge.
That would not be under Drifters management. That was an enterprising local who saw an opportunity to get $100J
Good to know. Thought it odd at the time.
Been to Drifter's many, many times and have only heard JamaGinger mention being charged for the restroom...but as already said...someone was unfortunately scamming.
I can only think of one place that has charged for their restroom and that was at the community centre here and one other place but not 100% sure of that, so there's no point in mentioning it.
I don't know of charging to use a restroom to be a "common practise" anywhere in Jamaica and I've been all over the island several times...some places may charge to use their beach showers though...
I don't think I said it was a common practice, but rather said "can be a practice" such as in the case of the community center. I'm glad to know it is not the practice of Drifter's. I can go back now knowing this is not typical, thanks to you good people.
