Prepare them well, with your accumulated knowledge, for what they should expect. My experience bringing newbies is the more info they have in advance the more they enjoy themselves.
my advice- dark sunglasses... super dark
Ras === good call

Recommend packing lists. Explain the taxi system. Advise them how to deal with higglers and hustlers and how to tell the difference. But most importantly, they must understand the concept of soon come.
Don't expect everyone to love Negril or Jamaica. We had one visit nearly ruined by a relative who hated everything that didn't meet her North American 'standards'.
explain to dem to say "No Thank You" a lot.....ha ha
Cool Runnings, Marko
This what I was looking, thanks everyone, keep it coming.
When you have been so many times you forget the "rules of the game".
Ras: hit the nail on the head.
Marko: The truth.
Big Frank: I can see that happening with some of my newbie.
Cap & Tah: My father-in-law was a Mason. I think he would of loved Jamaica.
Good points, but I am getting nervous. We have two newbie friends joining us for the week between Christmas and New Years.
I have already warned them that patience and respect are always required. I hope they listen, I always hate it when people expect Jamaica to be exactly like home. If that's what they want, why don't they just stay home!!
YaMon,
TedP-Day 5 of a 25 day stay, life is good!!
TedP: I'm very nervous for the same reasons. (don't wreck my buzz, cuz you can't be content):p
The little 3 night stay for my Lodge Brothers will be completely escorted. Three nights at Tensing Pen.
Diner there on the first night. Next morning to Boardwalk for a beach day followed by Lodge in Sav La Mar that night which includes diner
Next day a trip to Zion Hill and back to Negril for diner at 3 dives.
Next morning back to the airport for the trip home. We're renting a small van and Linston will drive. And I also have my jeep

This past June brought 3 Newbies down for a week. I have been going to Jamaica since 1992 and have what some would call a deep appreciation and elevated enthusiasm for the island. My enthusiasm certainly helped pave the way for their arrival.
When they told friends and family they were going to Jamaica the Universal response was "DON'T LEAVE THE RESORT"!
Fortunately they knew they were going on their first visit with someone who had experience on the island and trusted my suggestions for where we stayed, ate and activities we did off campus.
They had a blast and I was thrilled they enjoyed the vacation!
Enjoy,
VVHT
This past November there were 8 of us - 4 newbies. We met ahead of time and talked about it, what to expect. I had set up things to do, places to go. The newbies have heard me talk about it, seen my pictures so they were well prepared. Everyone loved it - and starting to think about planning next years trip!! Enjoy :)
