Hi Deb! Well according to the MegaMart FB page, which happens to say "Kingston" so it makes me nervous, they are open 24 hours "with exceptions" - ie - Sunday and Wednesday they are open 8 am to 10 pm. Here is the link - https://www.facebook.com/MegaMartJamaica

Thanks for asking this question. We are staying in a condo for the first time with full kitchen so I am curious as well. I would imagine prices would be better than the HiLo.
The one in Montego Bay is open Monday thru Saturday 7 am to 11pm. only day closed Sunday.
I have used Mega Mart a couple of times when we have had early arrival. It is "Mega" and takes a very long time to shop and checkout. We only shop for about 10 days and I don't know if we saved very much over the HiLo. I don't mind spending 5 or 10 bucks if it gets me on the beach half an hour (or more) earlier. There is or was a HiLo on the way out of MoBay.
I've never heard of a HiLo on the way out of MoBay. Does anyone know if that's a sure thing? I would like to pick up a few items (Red Stripe, rum and bottled waters )on my way in from the airport but would prefer not to have to go into Negril since I'm staying at Negril Treehouse in April. I'd like to avoid the large crowds at Megamart if possible.
Yes it's for sure it's on the right side if the road just before you get to the light where you would make your left to go to Mega-mart. I've never been in it but it looks to be just about as big as Mega-Mart

Thanks Rumlover,we shop there every time we arrive,and it's usually the middle of the day arrival. Just never paid attention to their hours.
the green building that is Quality Traders SuperMarket....before you reach HiLo....is open late most evenings in Negril....till like 11pm mi think

Hilo is right next to KFC right where you turn towards Bogue. I prefer the Progressive foods, there is one of those right near where Wendy,s and Payless shoes are. Good selection there.
be careful with what food you buy in Mobay......it takes an 1 1/2+hours to get to your place in Negril and food can spoil fast here

I was thinking the exact same thing. The trip from MoBay to Negril is not short by any means, unless your driver is picking you up with an ice chest you could have some rancid food when you get to your destination.
Yes, we only buy stuff that will not spoil and the rest we get the next day.
we have had our own place for years and the prices for mega vs hi low not all that much when comparing total shopping bill; for sure there are some items cheaper at each store but not material for entire bill. the hi low in mobay vs Negril similar prices and much quicker in/out than mega for SURE
Love shopping at Quality at night. The best time to shop. No hassles at that hour. Pick up groceries and rum after dinner.
We used to shop at Hi Lo in MoBay. I found the prices cheaper at Megamart. Didn't notice such long lines.
I would only use Mega Mart if it was for convenience. I did not notice much of a difference in pricing vs Hi-Lo on what I purchased. If you just need a few staples you can get to Hi-lo in town and back to TH faster than navigating Mega Mart.
Yes it is a long ride. We do have a private driver with ice chest and good ac.
MegaMart has a wide variety of goods but I never thought their prices were rock bottom. DConkle, do they have a cambio inside?
