Party Sunday Night - everyone invited
Husband, son and I are settling in nicely, been here since Sunday. Our 15 friends start arriving today, although there is a big group of "February people" here that we know and have great fun with - we sometimes come March, sometime earlier - and so we haven't seen the February folks in a few years.
Sunday night we are hosting a big party at SeaSplash - the more the merrier. The music has been fabulous! this year - Lamar has been installing new speakers all about, and his playlist is really top notch. Great vibe.
Bonfire ... lanterns ... (of course the wind has to cooperate for this ... been windy last few days).
Come by and join us for a drink and some laughs. I've worked on a special menu, so if you want to join in for dinner that is good too. Dinner will be $25pp, all you can eat. Here is menu -
**Mannish Water with Finger Dumplings
**Jerk Pork
**Brown Stew Chicken
**Whole Stuffed Fish
**Oxtails
**Roasted Potatoes
**Rice and Peas
**Veggie Stirfry
**Bread Pudding
**Rasta Pasta (available for Vegetarians as entree)
Sounds good yes?? Can't wait. I love to entertain in Jamaica!!

That sounds like a nice party set-up.
Wish I was there.

^^^ Yea what Marko said! We request pictures :)
Re: Party Sunday Night - everyone invited
I promise pictures. I'm bad at that, but I've already appointed a group photographer who is also responsible for alerting the various social media of our runnings. I'm just camp counselor. And menu planner. It's a great job ;;

Mrs Wilson,
Does the $25pp include Roundtrip Airfare? :)
Please post pics!
Enjoy,
VVHT
Re: Party Sunday Night - everyone invited
Party starts late afternoon (many of us going to Donkey Races earlier). Buffet will open about 7 pm. Don't have to come for dinner - just come by and say hello!
Sorry about airfare - I'll try to plan these social galas easier next year so people can book flight ;;;
Re: Party Sunday Night - everyone invited
Big Up Mrs. Wilson!! Sounds like a plan!
Re: Party Sunday Night - everyone invited
Do you need to reserve in advance for a head count?
Re: Party Sunday Night - everyone invited
It would be great to know how many, but we were afraid if we asked for RSVP we would scare people off because making plans is hard here! So first come will get it. We are planning for about 30 for dinner ... when it runs out people can always order off the menu,
Re: Party Sunday Night - everyone invited
Ok, how did the party go? :)
Re: Party Sunday Night - everyone invited
Party Report!! Sorry the party continued this morning with a snorkeling trip, so I'm just back now. (No, not through the night, sorry to disappoint!)
So first I want to thank all the staff who worked so hard for doing a great job decorating the restaurant and preparing the food.
They hung loonngg white shear panels all along the perimeter, all around and wove in some perfect red fabric in the right spots. It looked very beautiful. And red tablecloths/white napkins with vases of red anthuriums and candles all about. They really transformed the place and it was super chic and comfortable at the same time. Shabby chic, that's what it was.
There were about 30-40 people over the course of the evening in Norma's for dinner. And more people at the bar. People on the beach. A really nice night with the fire, good music. Lots of laughs, got to talk a bit to some friends old and new. I knew that all the newbies with us would meld with the usual Negril people, and they have, so very iris. The weather was perfect all day and night. Good sunset.
Regarding buffet, it was so good!! Oxtails, pork, chicken were my favorites - I went back to the oxtails and got three MORE big ones LOL. The Mannish water didn't make it to the buffet, but they put the finger dumplings in the oxtails, and they are the most delicious bit of carb I've ever eaten. There is like, no taste nearly. Meal and water is probably all. And hard! Chewy! But so delicious.
Oh and Seasplash makes the best roasted potatoes, (and we sometimes get extra and the next morning we fry them up for breakfast and they are even better with a crispy brown shin from the old skillet in our room ;; but I digress.) Oh and the bread pudding was great, super moist and delicious and I think it was cherries in there, and there is a container of it in my room now yay.
The negatives would be the food was very (very) slow in coming. But they were busy because people could order off menu too so there was a lot going on. I would definitely do a buffet with a big group again - everyone liked that there was one time when we would be hanging you as a group and then to each his own. Bu next time I would get something as an appetizer so hold us over. Also the fish was very tasty, but they didn't fillet them and they should have. I had to fight my way through, and finally, gave up.
That's my report. Now I need a nap.
Re: Party Sunday Night - everyone invited
Oh and I think there are lots of pictures I kept telling people to take, but don't think anyone has sent to me yet.
