Does anyone know how many rooms this place will have ? I have heard up to 800 rooms but don't know for sure.Are any expansions being made to the current sewage plant ? And also wonder about the water shortage and are they doing anything to fix that infrastructure ? Been wondering about these issues since this monster has been going up.Any info would be appreciated.

Sensatori is adding a bunch of rooms also. Short sighted development will ruin Negril. The infrastructure can't adequately handle the load as it is. Add another 1000 or more rooms and it will just make things worse. But as long as the proper palms get greased I guess that's all that matters.
With whats occurred, I really doubt that Royalton will be anything at all, other than a pile of rubble and a book of violations.
If it took 5 minutes to drive by the Royalton resort, you were driving REALLY slow! :)
The last I heard was about 560 rooms.

Well with all the expansion I question the sewage plant handling it.Think about 700 toilets flushing and showers.I want to swim in brown water said no one ever.I can't see the water shortage improving on the west end either.Having travelled to Negril for decades and watching it grow I don't believe the infrastructure has kept up with the growth.Just my humble opinion,

The last upgrade was completed in 2012. There is a new upgrade being done at present and Dr. Wykeham McNeil is concerned that it will not make the December 2015 deadline. The hotel construction being proposed will not be done until late 2016 if it meets its deadline.

The water problems have been caused by the Logwood plant, which is supplied by two water sources, as of today is being supplied by only one. Until we get a bit more rain and the second source is replenished, I cant see much changing. But we have been getting rain lately so we look for things to improve soon.Quote:
