No ma'am. Aubie is currently fighting the fight.
I'm sorry to hear that... His burger and fries were great.
I recall hearing somewhere else with a really good burger?
~Moose
Seastar Inn, and Sunset after Dark have real good burgers. sorry to hear Aah Bees is closed, maybe just till high season starts up cause I know he goes home to Canada part of the year.
Ahhbee's is shuttered for the foreseeable future. Aubie is in Canada and could use your prayers and positive vibrations.
Sad to hear. Aubie will be in my prayers.
Prayers for Aubie's health
Sad to hear Ahhbee's is closed- they had the best dirty bananas! Aubie is a heck of a nice guy, sending good vibes his way.
RIP Ahhbee you will be missed! Love & prayer for your family and loved ones. I last saw you in March and looked for you this last reach. Will post some pics later.
So sad. One can only hope the man went as pain free as possible. On to bigger and better things my friend.
As of this post, the most credible information we can obtain is that Aubie has not passed. He has suffered another setback, but possibly with the prayers and well wishes, he will pull through.
Hang in there man!
Rob, I can only hope. I did not post based off of the info on here. I was informed a few hours before from another credible source, hence why I replied on here as it was my second confirmation. I hope I am wrong, I hope he is reading this saying WTF, I hope that he pulls thru. Please let me be wrong this time.
It is sad to report that Aubie passed on. We got the news yesterday. Rest in peace man.
Sad news, indeed. Aubie was a good man who ran a great business. Our deepest sympathies.
RIP. Gonna miss Aubie and his burgers!
Hate to hear this. We first met Aubie while staying at Catcha. We always enjoyed having a burger at his café. R.I.P. Aubie.
RIP Aubie, was looking forward on our next reach sitting down and visiting you in person. Bless up! Jah knows!
R.I.P. my friend. Of all the expats I met down here Aubie gave me the best advice and the most real insights about this country and the people here. Every week I find myself saying remember what Aubie said he knew this place as well as anyone. Take care in your new life Aubie it was a pleasure to meet you.
Walked by ahbees last evening and definitely closed.
Didn't ask but from what I see posted he went home. RIP sir.
It was a slow night when we rolled up. I asked if he was closed, he enthusiastically replied “No, what would you ladies like?” We gave him our order and he ran off to prepare for us the biggest and best burgers within his power. He made it obvious during that brief encounter that he loved cooking, people and Jamaica.
To Aubee’s loved ones…May Jah provide the strength and comfort to help you make it through this very difficult time.
Mr. Aubee…rest peacefully

I cut and pasted the message below written by Aubie's son from the restaurant's facebook page https://www.facebook.com/AhhhBees/
He was a very good friend of mine who loved Jamaica, Jamaican people, and the community in which he lived, played and worked. I will miss you my friend.
Hi Everyone,
It is with mixed emotions to announce that @ahhhbees will be officially closing indefinitely. Aubie was a man that let little stop him from doing what he wanted, when he wanted. Choosing to close up your dream (running a business in Jamaica) is a hard decision, but at this time is the right decision.
Aubie frequented Jamaica for the last 40 years and has lived there full time working to make Negril a better place for the last seven years. During this time he got married to my mother Terri at Ocean Edge Hotel, left his mark managing LTU PUB (beside Rick's) and started two businesses evrytyme cafe (tigress lane) and most recently became the real Burger King in town with Ahhh Bee Burger raking in the top tourist and local restaurant destinations in Jamaica!
For a country with no problems, damn there are a lot of situations! Most businesses in Jamaica close due to tough economic times, poor management and lack of owners' mind-set and perseverance. My dad was made in Canada to operate in Jamaica! If anyone would get through the ups and downs of Jamaica it was my father, Aubie! Although I just went on a rant, I am happy to say none of these reasons stopped my dad nor were responsible for the closure of Ahhh Bees.
My father {Aubie} was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer 35 days ago and encountered multiple complications. He was strong, however, it is a vicious disease and unfortunately was not caught soon enough. Aubie passed peacefully beside his family today at the age of 57 years old. Unfortunately, this is the reason for the closure.
I wanted to take a minute to thank all the customers, locals and abroad for supporting Ahhh Bees Burger into what it has become today. Additionally, all his friends in Jamaica have been tremendously supportive of him over the years and I personally thank you for all that you have done for my father, it is truly remarkable. You were his family. My father loved you all more then you will ever understand and you are the reason why he got up every morning in beautiful Negril.
Those that knew Aubie will definitely agree he left a mark on Negril that will never be forgotten.
P.S. my dad has one surprise before he is over and out! Two years ago the Travel Channel chose Ahhh Bees as a feature for its food paradise international tv series. Ahhh Bees will make its international debut on Sept 11th at 8pm EST / 7pm CST. See link for further details: http://www.travelchannel.com/sh…/f...-international
Regards,
Dustin (Aubie's Son)
Dustin, very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing especially at such a young age. we met him on a few occasions and the aura surrounding him was very cool. will miss him on our next trip down.
Dustin,
Please know your father was an amazing businessman and a tremendous person. He always made Laura and I feel welcome at his restaurant and his burgers were legendary. I am truly sad to know that I will never have an Ahbee burger again. He is missed.

Sorry for your loss Dustin. Met your Dad last year and got to enjoy some of his amazing food. He will be missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Dustin, my condolences to you and your family. We had the pleasure of meeting your father on our last trip. I'll never forget waiting out a rainstorm with a fabulous lunch and a few Red Stripes, along with a nice conversation with your dad.

This is so sad...tired of hearing about the ravages of cancer....he was a great guy and we loved the vibe and food.....RIP sir....condolences to his family....it was way too soon....
yes sir!
Aubie was a straight shooter, full of life and a great ambassador for Jamaica. Many mornings I woke up in a haze at Catcha and caught him sitting at the restaurant staring at the sea. Some days I had energy to interrupt, as I knew deep conversation soon come. The calm he started his day with always left a mark.
