Trip report No. 5-Pushcart

It was approaching Sunset.
Baby, lets go hit the Cliffs area.
I have heard about The Lovenest place on the Cliffs.

So, I called Linston and asked for a ride.
He said "sure, I'm on my way.
He arrived and baby and I hopped in and off we went.

Got to Sir D's Lovenest, but it was all dark.
"They appeared to be closed" Linston said.
But along the way we had passed all kinds of places that had lights on and people there.

Find me another spot with music and cold beverages.
Linston said "Sharks or Pushcart?

I had never been to either, so I just said Pushcart.
We pulled up there and got out.
I'll be hanging around, call me when you are ready to leave.

We walked in and there was a nice crowd there.
It is a little classier than some beach bars.
Really clean and kept up nice.

We found a seat close to the edge by the water.

"Mark, I have a taste for a Banana Daiquiri.
Hey, that sounds tasty, I think I will change-up from beer
and get one too.
The frozen drink was excellent.

I looked at the menu and tried to decide what to eat.
Mark, didn't you say you wanted some Goat?
Yes I did, baby.

We ordered that and it was also well prepared.

"Hey waiter, how about another round?

We polished off 2 more Banana daiquiris and I felt full.
We sat and chatted a while with the 2nd drink.
Some tourist ladies were up on the dance floor
shaking what they got.

The music was nice too.

After a while I used mi J-cell and called Linston.
He was waiting promptly on the road.
A nice drive back home and we chilled there.

The locals are really into DVD's.
If you don't have cable, there are only a few TV channels.
TV-J and something else.
I flipped through a stack of DVD's and found some I had never seen before.

After that it was bedtime.
Lights out!

Markospoon or actually anybody that knows....

Where in Negril can I buy some DVDs to take back home to Accompong Town? I usually just buy them in Santa Cruz but the selection isn't that good.

for the last few years I have been going to....Juici patty plaza. as you stand looking at it from the road on the left end down by the ice cream shop is a stairway. there is a small alley at the stairway. walk down the alley(just a few feet) and the dvds are there. $100J each. they are only there after dark

Had a lot of requests for DVDs when I was there a few weeks ago. A great place to get them up home is the local Goodwills. I also find them a lot at auctions and yard sales. Can usually get a box full for a buck. Not into them so would pass....but now for future reaches I will scarf up everyone I can get...already asked friends and family to give me their old ones. Looks like I will have another bag to check in next time just for media. Lol.Actually have a did player I no longer use.
Accompong...I never did male my way to MiYard...but I did make it, twice. Still laughing over that one.

Nice thought on the DVDs. Easy to pack if not bringing the cases.
Question on the coding though. Some US DVDs arent coded for international play. Is that a problem?

If you ever meet up with me, my lady friend has about 100-150.
She burns them on the computer then sells them.

Yeah, I enjoyed the Nyammings platter there. I had some Red Stripes with it, but if you're in the mood for a good mixed drunk, you should try the Purple Rain. I would think they can make it there, I actually had it at Rockhouse, but its the same place, sort of.

Thanks for the head's up. I think I know this place. I will be asking some Negril friends when I reach as well.

I can't speak for everyone, of course, but all the DVDs I have purchased (literally hundreds) and brought down (literally hundreds) have been in NTSC format. Most DVD players come from Region 1 (the Americas) and not Europe Region 2 used in Jamaica. Although some are still only using PAL (Europe) it is becoming less common.

We went to Push Cart on our very first trip and didn't return until 8 trips later (this past August) as we wanted to try the many locally owned restaurants. I'm sorry we waited so long. The pricing was actually reasonable and the quality of food was up there with the authentic, local spots. At the urging of Moose, I ordered the Nyammings Platter.The food was excellent and there was more than enough on the plate to fill me up. (I ended up sharing some with Mrs. D.)

Markospoon, make sure you add Shark's to your intinerary, if you haven't been there. His restaurant is an experience like no other (try the pan fried snapper). Linston knows what he speaks of.

I'd also like to add that Pushcart is where I had the 'wallet incident'. A manager was handling my order when someone else approached me with my now empty wallet that I most likely dropped in the cab. I had already started on my Red Stripe and had no way to pay. I said I'll leave it here and I'll walk back to BCC and be back with some money. He said no problem, take it with you for the walk, we'll have your nyammings platter ready for when you get back. And sure enough they did along with another nice cold red stripe. :cool:
