Another murder in Negril last night?
I have been hearing rumors, but no confirmation yet.
Still not confirmed?? There was another murder. Please prove me wrong but keep it real please.

wi were having our annual Christmas Bashment Sunday night............
and when the guests were leaving down the West End Road around 10:30pm.......
they couldn't get thru the Tigress Lane area as no vehicles nor foot traffic was allowed to pass.....
there was yellow crime tape up and da police weren't talking......
so our guests came back to the party reporting the situation.....
and haven't heard anything more but expecting the worse once again....
December was a crazy month here.......

I read the Gleaner, Observer and Star on line almost every day. How do murders occur in Negril (several in the past days) and the major rags in JA don't report about it??? Talks about every day plenty murders around the island sparing no details and yet wha gwan in Negril stay in Negril??
If the Govt agencies are suppressing the news and facts outta Westmoreland then there is a cover-up?? Or??? Or is that only bad mon killin bad mon??
I have already addressed why some incidents are not reported, although I did leave out that depending on the news events on any given day some stories don't make the cut. And sometimes one news source will cover a story when another won't.Quote:

I'll not pointing fingers at you but someone has to be held accountable for the free press or then you become the dictatorship not Fidel. All week long you have contributors telling you they are not coming back to Negril doesn't that tell you something. It is the natural progression.
I did not see anything in the Gleaner or else I would of said so. You read everything I have posted on your board. It has been honest, true and correct. I always stand in your corner and support all the good things that happen. Even now there has not between one word raised against you. The major rags are not Negril.com
The loop I know nothing about so I have no comment or opinion. I think you might consider lightning up on some of us that get the game that is being played. It won't be my fault if as so many boardies have suggested already that the town name gets changed to Dodge City, Jamaica!!!

After living here so long and knowing how things operate here, the idea of an organized government/news media cover up is beyond imagination.

We want to provide our visitors with factual information to allow them to have the best vacation possible. They should not have to sift through rumors and speculation to obtain the facts. There is enough fake news on the net already.

Negril.com is your business. You always show a great deal of love and passion for the place the people and especially the traveler who uses Negril.com as their barometer on all things Negril. You do a great job!!
When I see long time boardies, multiple time visitors start discussing potential options for vacations I myself feel bad within as I know how awesome Negril is / can be.
The point I was trying to make and perhaps in haste was not clear is that more than anything what is happening to the fabric of society that can threaten the whole reason for going to Negril in the first place?? I was attracted by the beauty of the place and its people, the value it represented, but more importantly the positive vibrations that I felt while there and the happiness of heart it left within me.
This isn't about me accusing anybody, especially you, but asking the question why is this happening??
Thanks for the link to the Gleaner article. If you noticed in the comment section a reader commenting about how could this kind of thing happen in a little peaceful place like Negril.
