Excellent! I will be there for Luciano on the 11/29.
I guess I cant stay at the Jungle and get in for free with a private bathroom steps away now.lol

Are you saying that the winter concerts will not be at Negril Escape??? Wha gwan????
Weird cause the Negril Escape website is posting those two shows under events.
Yes it's on the Negril Escape web-site.
Not so weird - the Jungle is owned by the same family as NE. Perhaps NE will announce shows for later in the winter, December, January or February? Or are they not doing shows there at all this season?
Sounds to me like all the shows will be at the Jungle. I dont see anything on Negril Escape website but they are on the One Love Concert Series sight, and on Facebook page.
at the Jungle i might still go - but bars arent my cup of tea.. i hope that these openers are at the Jungle - but hopefully maybe others will be at the escape.. its one of the reasons i book my room at the escape.. no i dont buy a ticket - but i drop a couple thousand on rooms for me and friends.. lets just hope
Going to go see luciano at negril escape or the jungle on the 29th .. :) ill be there somewhere...:D
LOL patty he is definately performing at the Jungle it is on the flyer
Well WE will be there then..dusting off the sequins now..:D
Tic why is your count down so far off from mine if we are there at the same time?

'The Jungle has received "club of the year" awards year after year. The Open Air Sports Deck will hosts the 2011/12 One Love Reggae Concert series.
Centrally located, the Jungle boasts, 7 bars, 3 dance floors, pool table, boutique, and a grill. Partrons can enjoy the concerts in an extremely safe environment, up close and personal with the artistes whilst enjoying nature and the great outdoors all in one."
I've got to say I am bummed about the change in locale. Nothing like being right next to the sea with stars overhead hearing the irie tunes without crowding or hassle. Maybe is has to do with the crack down on permits and noise ordinance. Anyhow I hope it is not permanent. I have been to the Jungle once and it is not my cup of tea.
Although I really liked the concerts at Negril Escape, the deck upstairs at the Jungle is a nice spot too.
Oh and I will see you at the Luciano Patty Sather!
sometimes when they had rain showers during the show up at Negril Escape it kinda put a dent in the turn out........
thus having it under a roof kinda guaranteed not having the same problem.........
same reason SeaStar Inn is putting a roof over the entire downstairs....
no reason for people not to turn out for their show and bashment......

yah, i'll second irieworld. imho it's kind of a shame.
the Jungle is a nice club, i enjoy it once in a while. but it's still just a nightclub. there's nothing 'special' about a show at a club. the vibe can't compare to outadoors on the cliffs, music out in the night air, under the stars, surf crashing below, fresh ocean breeze above. it's mystical.
reggae on the cliffs is kinda legendary. and when the N.E. shows began, i was THRILLED that they were tryna bring it back, after it had been so long gone from up there.
pmpphhh
definitely diminishes the appeal
there is nothing like being under the stars and getting the occasional splash from a larger wave while watching the show
bummed out .. loved the concerts by the water not to mention steps from my home...
I like the upstairs outdoor space at the Jungle, and the ability to lave that space and be in another. It's also more convenient for beach people. Maybe guests of NE can get a show/stay package...?
still bumming. Sorry Carey--big ups to you for all the great shows you are bringing around, but we need a show cliffside, outside, like Samsara and Kaisers used to do--and more recently Negril Escape. So much more special.
"bummed out .. loved the concerts by the water not to mention steps from my home... "
Yup I hear ya on that, while not steps from my yard close enough...
I'd love to see Central Park opened and used for live music again...
That all said, I'm not seeing ticket prices? Anyone have any idea?
That is a good point you bring up there rastagirl.No-one has seen the ticket price.
Do you think it will be higher or lower than NE?
It will not have the same ambience or personal touch but Jungle does have all the facilities required.
BUT they will have to get some good acts on otherwise people would just stick with alfreds /roots bamboo and bourbon beach where you can get to see some good shows open air in the sand by the waves.
I think a club can compete with that especially the Jungle as it is a good set up but it will be interesting to see how it works out.
high cost/low cost
big well known act/small upcoming
length of performance
time
I thought quite a lot of the more mature crowd went to NE from what I saw in the photographs and it will be interesting to see how the promoters attract that crowd into a nightclub or if they are looking for a new younger clientel
I have not seen any sort of promotion so far but maybe there is some on the ground or some planned
Although a younger crowd will probably be more likely to see younger fresher acts that they know.
I guess we all just have to sit tight and wait.
Hopefully some more shows will be released this week and i still have lots of hope that there will be the WOW and BOOM factor for my dates. This is the moment some of us have waited all year for.I am excited to see the line up but get here already!
"That is a good point you bring up there rastagirl.No-one has seen the ticket price.

Thank you TicToc, I was starting to think I was going crazy, but I cannot find a ticket price anywhere.
My guess is that they MAY be lower than NE - I know when Shaggy played at NE it was $50US and when he played at the Jungle it was 1500JMD. I guess we'll have to wait and see...
Interesting post..I am with most of you guys...I still like the cliffs for a concert setting. By the water, especially the cliffs, adds a special charm to the entire vibe. Loving music as I do...I'll go where they play, but truly, I prefer the cliff setting. I think Negril Escape was near a perfect concert environment. Guess we will just have to see how it goes.
Very interesting prices rastagirl wonder why that was so?
I hope it is not because they cram hundreds of people in the Jungle so much so that you cannot get near the stage or see anything.
I think there is some videos of previous concerts at the Jungle on youtube.I am going to have a look at some.
I will add my )-: to the list. We are staying at N.E. in Feb and were looking forward to the show who ever it may have been. Not sure if we will venture to the Jungle or not. Probably not!
Steve
I would hope that the Alan could take the guests at Negril Escape over on the Jungle shuttle anyway.
Bummed! Even though I stay at the Whistling Bird -- literally across the street from the Jungle -- it's with sadness to learn that One Love's no longer at Negril Escape. Talk about magical! My peak experience last vacation was the Feb 8th Richie Spice concert. The vibe was blissful, surrounded by beautiful Rastafari youth, a super tight backup band, warm clear sky, fragrant cliff breeze. Not an experience duplicated indoors. Hopefully Carey will continue with some concerts at that location. Please? ;)
I hear ya David. In 28 years the absolute BEST reggae show I've seen in Negril was the Toots show a week before the Richie Spice show. It was awesome and the production quality at NE was just TOPS - especially the SOUND, something I've always struggled with with various shows at other places (its hard to mix sound outdoors, especially by the water).
You're right rastagirl. The SOUND was really dialed in. Ha! Maybe management decided all that nice audio gear was too precious to be used outside.
Not sure about other events he produced on the Cliffs, but that one had a good half hour of local clothing and crafts presented as a multimedia show, with artists in attendance. Also had a good 2 dozen tables set up like a vendor fair. I don't imagine much of that translating to the Jungle.
Does anyone have the scedule? Can't find it on the Jungle website. ThANKS
@jan24
There is no schedule so far
However, Bnewb just posted the one and only concert that they are promoting so far this year, here:
http://negril.com/forum/showthread.p...Concert-Series...
This website is typically where they used to show the schedule but it doesn't seem they update it very regularly.

It is clear that the One Love Concert series is definitely not what it was last year....though I hope that changes as we were there right before it started and came back way after it was over and we will be there in April and I was thinking it will be our first reach IN SEASON in a while and I was hoping to get the chance to finally attend a show...though I was really hoping it to be at Negril Escape....oh well
