Ha! He was drunk and screaming on monday. Threw our group out of Ricks Cafe. Our third day in row in a cabana there. We spent no less than $8,000US there for the week. He was wasted and shouting at our group leader and staff. NEVER AGAIN!

I have known Tom for many, many years. He has always been a gracious host and super cool to me, my friends and family!

I'm not going to judge anybody's sobriety (because I wasn't there), but if a group tried to leave without paying then it is a big deal. Especially is you're buying $6k worth of food and drinks in a sitting. I'm sure your "group leader" knows how that works.

Cant get away with the old dine and dash trick in negril lol. One thing i do love about negril is on more than one occassion at several different bars we ran out of cash but wanted to keep drunking and the bartenders happily ran a tab for us and allowed us to pay the next day. Its nice to be trusted like that and one of the percs of frequenting the same locations year after year. As for the guy who owns Ricks we go once a year just to say we did and the guy who runs it has always been nice to us

This is awesome. Been reading this board since 2005 and never saw Ricks get defended by the "locals" before. FWIW I've spent about $30 at Ricks 3 or 4 different times and they've always been nice. Maybe OP should've cut off a bit earlier.

Tom is a good dude and likely reacted as the situation dictated. However, this story does not add up. You cannot go ANYWHERE and rack up a tab like that without already having put an authorization on a card.

I am sure its possible with a large group that spends the day there. We treated my two sister inlaws to an afternoon ar ricks and then dinner at sunset last april and without even drinking alot or renting a cabana it cost over $400 us. Now if i spent the day there with a bus load of my hard drinking canadian buddies pounding back beer and tequila we could put a big dent in that $6000 lol
6K in one sitting would be a 6 month hangover for sure!!

Speaking of pirates cave, i was there last april for a few drinks with my lady and know its called pushcart now and they put a railing up so you cant jump off the wall anymore but i was wondering if there is still stairs from the yard across the road leading down into the cave? Thats how we always got up after jumping off the wall. I remember at one time on certain days or certain times of the day there was a girl down there that you could buy beer and drinks from
