10 days out - a pretrip report

OMG - we are leaving in 10 days...

Me: 20 days out: I'm sooooo excited! Hubby is excited! Friends are excited!

Me: 17 days out: Um....good thing you are sick now (to Aims and Hubby) so you can be better when we go.

This week found us with two trips to ER and one trip to Urgent Care, then to top it off - a trip to get our taxes done. Sigh.

Me: Well...it's gotta get better, right?

Our house looks like a medical center - nose sprays, antibiotics, essential oils, a humidifier going at full tilt all day and night....kleenex, my God, the kleenex.

Everyone is ok - just recovering from a variety of things - strep throat, a head cold, viral bronchitis. Good times.

Somewhere in this craziness, I've done less pretrip shopping, WAY less dieting and working out, and a little bit of planning. Clothes are getting ready to be washed and packed....

One more LOOOOONNNNGGGG week of work and before we know it we'll be wheels up! Hoping the variety of crud we all have is gone before we get there!

Well...this week before mostly sucks. We have ridiculous work commitments that will keep me from thinking about what I WANT to think about...packing....planning....last minute shopping! ;) My cold continues to get worse...but it gets worse before it gets better, right?

I will do a better job of working on a complete report this year - last year I sorta fell off the wagon! Stay tuned!!

All will get better the night before Jamaica is ALWAYS the BEST feeling!!!

Heck yea!!~Safe travels!

So - in about 10 hours we will be getting on a plane. FINALLY. We booked this trip almost a year ago (right after we got home last year).

Health update: 3/4 of us are not feeling the greatest. I'm sure nothing a little sand, sun, and sea won't cure. Just have remnants of colds in various stages.

I've packed and repacked. And I'm packing again. Seriously there is something wrong with me! I took out half...added a few "in case" items that I'm sure I will never touch while I'm there. I am not a great packer. Too many what ifs in my head. I'm about ready to say screw it and zip em up and call it good. LOL
I'll try to touch base while we are there...but you know how it goes. Sand gravity and rum can be a toxic combination causing one to forget all their plans.

So quick little update....

You know how the night before you go, it's hard to sleep? Well, guess what makes it harder? When your husband has two bloody noses in the night. My alarm was set for 2 am, but it's 1:15 and I'm already drinking coffee. I can sleep on the plane, right?

Only a tiny bit nervous about what the cabin pressure will do for his nose. Please send positive vibes our way that we make it without incident - or a bloody mess on the plane. Ugh....

LOL - no casualties. I'll start my report tomorrow. Trying to get my pictures organized and then I will be ready to go. This year I wrote in my journal each morning - so I will at least remember everything!
