I love to hang out on our balcony with a cold drink, a spliff, and some reggae music. If not I like a little tiki bar like Tony's hut, Sunnyside or on the cliffs at Ivan's or Xtabi..... with a cold drink, a spliff and some reggae music.
We like to hang out at Alfreds when it rains......or in our room
Go swimming, drink rum punch and before you know it it'll be the next day.
Like to get stuck at a random beach bar, have a few drinks and make some new friends.
Or stay in and keep the fire burning.
We like Tony's Hut and Boat Bar.
Ah. As much as the sun and surf draws me to the islands, the Jamaican afternoon deluge offers me a recharging that I have yet to reproduce. No spliffs, no alcohol... A hammock under cover, a good book and solitude, or the presence of an someone who understands the moment and appreciates the cleansing vibe. Watching hotel staff gathering in doorways enjoying a welcome respite. Listening to the changing patterns of raindrops with the rivers of accumulation falling from banana leaves. No where to be. Phone turned off. There is absolutely nothing that I have found like it and it is my moment. Thank you Jamaica!Attachment 50377

Before I stepped out the room, I looked over my shoulder and told baby "I'll be right back"
She looked at me, and said "be careful".
"Of course my darling, look what I have waiting on me"
She laughed and turned back to the TV.
So, with umbrella in hand, I stepped out,
locked the door and headed down the path toward the street.
As I was almost to the road it hit me.
Smoke was I the air.
A combination of the grilled chicken and Ganja!
Ahhh, what a winning hand.
As I approached the grill, my main Grilll Master stepped out of who knows where and suddenly appeared.
"you ready man??"
He opened the top and I saw a bounty of the chicken just
waiting on a brother like me.
"In a minute" I said.
I gotta hit the store over there first,.... on my way back, Mon.
I turned left then right, then left again along the sidewalk, dodging puddles here and there.
I had my pants rolled up to about mid calf like many locals.
I made it to the likkle shop, shook out my umbrella and went inside.
There were a few locals kinda hanging in the doorway,
but they parted like the Red Sea when I approached.
I head straight to the cooler, looked inside,
but the humidity had clouded the glass, so I slid the door open
and gabbed a six pack of Red Stripes, then I noticed the Smirnoff Vodka like coolers.
Man, they now have about 4-5 different varieties.
I like the Smirnoff Red, ice cold is fantastic.
A nice change of taste from beer.
I put all that on the counter then turned and
grabbed bun, cupcakes, bag of chips, etc., etc.
The lady rang it all up and bagged it all up.
I walked out with umbrella in one hand and supplies in the other.
As I was walking back, my grill master, jumped out of his hiding spot,
flipped open the top of his grill and stabbed a nice looking leg and started chopping.
"Man, I need 2, one for me and one for baby.
He smiled and kept on chopping.
Wrapped in foil, I put them both in the shopping bags and headed to the room.
Baby was still there, seems like she didn't move an inch.
But, when I came through the door, she jumped up, quick as a Gazelle.
She took all the supplies and put them in the fridge.
It wasn't raining to hard, so I ate out on the Veranda and she ate inside and watched TV.
"Oh baby doll, can you get me a ....she was at the door holding an ice cold Smirnoff.
That's what I do when it rains outside.
