If you're in Terminal 3, get a Bloody Maria (bloody mary with tequila) from Frontera Grill - that'll get it going!
With today's climate on airlines, where they seem all to happy to escort people off of airplanes, not sure 'getting the party started early' is worth missing the real party Irine! LOL

he is correct. be careful, airlines have zero sense of humor or party these days.
the only place i have ever seen a passenger yanked off a plane was a flight from mobay to atlanta. "Yuh nuh fly todeh cum back tomorrow afta a gud nights sleep" the flight crew totally overreacted in my opinion.
I didn't say snakes on a plane......but I get it....you're saying wait till we're at 35,000 feet. I can do that:friendly_wink:
I always stand up, look up and down the rows of seats.
Maybe I will recognize someone.
A good stretch just for the heck of it is nice.
Maybe a "Boardie headband/hat to be worn will attract other boardies (just kidding)
Irine, I always wonder the same thing. (I fly out of Chicago all the time)
But, I use Midway Airport, not O'Hare.
I fly American Airlines...ORD to MBJ Nonstop every year...I'll gladly pay more for a nonstop to fly anywhere....ORD on the 29th..soon come:cool-new::cool-new:
Ummm.... yeaaaah... get the party started at 35,000 ft... let me know how that works out for you (cause airlines never turn back midair)...

I can hear it now "Don't make me turn this plane around"!
I'd start the party once over the Gulf. At that point you're almost there, and they may escort you off the plane FIRST, in Mobay!
Last flight down, I hit it pretty hard on the plane. Had six vodkas, I asked the attendant for another and she said, we're only *supposed* to serve you five.:biggrin-new:
Good thing I was well behaved.
Usually only have 3 or 4, who said anything about getting drunk to have a party or a good time. Mild buzz + people heading to Jamaica in an excellent mood + chance of great conversations about where to meet up later = party!!!
Who knows, maybe the airline will support your cause and pump a little extra oxygen into the cabin!
"I have had it with these motherf@#%ing Boardies!!!"

LMAO well done MIKE_D:congratulatory:
I want to move my trip to Feb just to enjoy the vibe on the plane, pretty sure you don't need a nanny Irine!
I do recall a trip from Chicago to MoBay a few years ago when 3 Russian national couples (based on their clothes, jewelry and attitude, I think they were pretty rich) were being very obnoxious and rude to the flight crew, especially in the last hour when they were cut off from the booze... I was very happy to see all 6 of them invited separately into those cute little chat rooms behind immigration.
Exactly my point kwhizz...one & done:cool-new:
Anyone remember when some Hedo groups would fly a charter down and they would strip naked for the flight get dressed at landing and then strip on the bus for the ride to Negril ?
you never know who you are going to sit next to on the plane! Last year, I boarded in BWI for my connection and got a great aisle seat in the third row (southwest)... turns out the four people in the row (two on each side) were regulars from Grand Pineapple and we had met and talked during a previous stay. needless to say, the party got started right away!
ETA: do you ever look around your plane and, even though you are all going to land in Montego Bay, you feel like you are the most excited, maybe the only excited, person on the plane??? Come on, people.... we are going to Jamaica... get pumped!!!!
Actually, cause I fly out of Buffalo and can't fly direct, I'm nervous til I'm on the 2nd plane lifting off the tarmac (missed a couple of connections thru the years). Then I prefer to relax for the flight down to reserve the ole energy bank for my first day/night down in Negril (I tend to stay up the latest my first night, even though my day started at 3:30am... lol).

I've been lucky,
I can fly through BWI from my home airport and land around 11:30 or fly direct from BOS and land around 12:30 (this year-it keeps changing year to year). So my biggest problem is whether my ride is on time and my room is ready when I arrive.... so far, only 1 snafu last year with my ride (JUTA).
Last year, i set my alarm wrong. Luckily I was flying from my smaller home airport. I was supposed to fly out at 5:30 am and woke up at 4:15 am. Needless to say, thanks to being a smaller airport and first thing in the morning, as well as an attentive desk agent, I made and my luggage made it... that's about as close a call I ever want!!!
Form a previous post.......
"That first day though. You try to sleep the night before but it's useless. You toss and turn and even though you set two alarms because you're terrified you will sleep through the first one, you wake up before either one goes off. U quick shower, double triple check your stuff, pace the lobby when the van is full waiting for that one straggler who's flying to Denver and not thrilled about it.
You don't start to relax until you're through customs, you board, sit and that's when the truth hits home "next stop Jamaica"!! You tell yourself "get a little sleep" you open your book and read the same chapter 4 or 5 times before you put it away and shake your head thinking "why do I kid myself". The drink cart comes around and you have a couple few several because dammit, you're on vacation!
You are even a little excited about filling out your customs form, you're getting closer. You try not to act like a kid looking out the window as the plane readies itself to land and as you look at this beautiful place like it's the first time you have ever seen it, because it does feel that way doesn't it? So beautiful.
Now you're off the plane through customs and heading out the door and it hits you. You close your eyes and smell the jungle, the Blue Mahoe Hibiscus, Palmetto, Orchids, then there is chicken and ganja. After leaving the land of the ice and snow it's almost overwhelming.
Your ride packs you up and thank god he remembers the red stripe on ice (he'll be getting a good tip again). You stop at Bigga's, some rum punch, a little chicken, some rum punch, and then your off again with a rum punch traveler. Some excited chatter and boom you're in Negril!! You check in, hit the beach and tell yourself you're going to take it easy, call it an early night.
Then your taking a swim, clear warm water, sand like velvet on your feet, salt on your tongue, and you realize your warm, really warm, for the first time in months. As you walk from the sea you take a seat at the bar, any bar. You get a drink and realize something else, you're not even close to ready for bed. So you'll be a little rough around the edges for the 1st few minutes in the morning until you have some eggs and a little too much rum cream in your coffee.
But really, why go to bed? It's only been 20 or so hours and truth be told, right now your the very best version of yourself."
You hit this Irine.........I read this, I feel this and I can almost smell this... cheers!!! You nailed it.
Irine, after reading your thread title it reminds me of a return flight back to the States.
"The Captain has turned off the No Smoking sign...." and a half dozen lit up stubbies in the back.
Half way to Cuba the Captain pleaded "Aw common now.....". Not a dry eye, the entire plane was in hysterics!
Absolutely right Irine (except that I always get my first drink/Stripe from one of the girl's at the cooler outdoors, by the transportation!)

years ago when air regulations were much more relaxed, there was quite a party on an air jamaica flight.....two even initiated themselves to the mile high club......oh the horror
Still sure you want to start the party on the plane? LOL

So after quite some time I was frustrated with the prices for flights to Jamaica. Then Dr. David Dao was assaulted on a United Airline Flight and within days I was able to buy the cheapest flights I have ever found to Jamaica in 10 years. After reading this article travelers looking for good flights should keep an eye on American Airlines as they are going to have to do damage control just like United had to. I wonder if it's too soon to book next winters flights?:) As for Model Jen Selter, I can't believe there wasn't at least 1....dozen guys on the plane that didn't protest on her behalf. Flight attendants are getting overstressed with too much on their shoulders with all the new flight safety and security initiatives. Hopefully they will be in a better mood flying to Jamaica as opposed to New York. I'll have to scope out the vibe;)
Again, our idea of a party is people getting together and sharing a couple drinks and chatting up a storm about where we are going and some recommendations about where to go. Making friendships and feeling the cool vibe early on instead of waiting until we get to the island. It's nothing negative and in no way meant to cause heartburn for the attendants, I hope they will include themselves in the conversation. A bone head like that deserves what he gets.
