How is the mosquitoes situation in Negril? We are currently in TB but head to Negril on Sunday. They are horrible here. We are on our 3rd bottle of mosquitoes spray. My husband has it the worst so hoping to get a reprieve in Negril.

I was having a conversation yesterday and we both commented that the mosquitos seemed fewer than usual. Not what I would call scientific, but we both noticed it...
Although Treasure Beach (as a whole) is more arid than Negril, their is a lot of standing water in the Great Bay area that is a breeding ground for mosquitoes. I stayed for a good amount of time in Billy's Bay (which is the furthest of the four bays that make up Treasure Beach from Great Bay) and it had a whole lot less mosquitoes there.Quote:

For sure, as Accompong said, there are many areas in Treasure Beach of standing water and that is the problem in that area, a total excellent breeding ground for mosquitoes. I left last month and was never troubled by any mosquitoes at all !
Thanks. It has been wonderful here except for mosquitoes.
just got home last night, the Mrs. usually has scores of bites even using Deet products, this trip she barely had 5 bites in 10 days
It's never the mosquitoes that I worry about, it's the damn sand fleas!!! Unfortunately, it seems they're happy to welcome me back every time I come down! :(

in the Winter here you not really seeing much of dem insects......Summer is when dem here......sometimes big time
this Winter on the West End there might of been some in December......virtually nothing since start of the year
