semi(and crew):):) always use Clives Transport Service!!!
soon come!
Rocki's Tours and Transportation is a sponsor of this board and we have been using him for years. He is dependable, courteous, safe and knowledgeable. His current charge is $ 70 each way for up to 4 people and will make stops as you request along the way. Contact him at his website http://rockystaxiandtourservice.com/
I sent you a message on Facebook...
Clive's everytime for me. Reservations made online with a confirmation email sent to them. When exiting Sangster - they will be holding a sign for Clives's and will get you a cold red stripe - load you up (sometimes but no always a shared ride but never had to wait longer than 15 minutes before heading out) $20 per person each way - so for me as a single $40US round trip. they will tell you when you will be picked up on Leaving day and can me counted on to be on time. They try to make a pit stop on the ride to Negril for bathrooms/drinks and they have been nice enough to stop at Bigga's in Green Island when I have asked to get some food if ready. I always tip $5US and if we stop buy the driva a drink.
I used Clives Transport Service for the first time last trip and it was cheep and hassle free
Alfred's on this board is $50 each way for up to 3 people. Bonus...if you book an all day excursion thru him, u get a return trip to the airport for free.
enjoy the trip, call Clives, and tell him you want to go it slow and take the "back" way, its not that much diff in time, but you will "step back" in time with the sights you will see along the way....you will see the little villages, shops, stores, bars with dirt floors...lol.....
really the way Jamaica looked 20 yrs ago..........not that much xtra in cost at all and worth it, you can make stops along the way for photos and "snacks".....
Warning
dont save this for the trip back, as time delays can be common on this back way, you dont want to be late for a departure......
That would be my suggestion also. http://alfredstaxi.dpi-hq.com/
I believe that Clives is now $30.00 each way per person, no more $20.00 each way.
Just used Rocky's. Very dependable and professional. Nice equipment,
and he will meet you with a couple red stripes.
We were two hours late arriving. Rocky was still there with his sign.
Made several stops to and from Negril. No extra charge.
I think all of the suggestions so far are easy and dependable. I have taken Clives, Alfreds, and Juta all with no confusion and bookings via internet or email. All easy to find outside--they have signs.
I always just use JUTA. It's $18.00 per person each way or $36.00 round trip. You can book ahead of time at jutatoursnegrilltd.com and just print out your receipt, show it at the airport, and that's it.
can you book Juta for $18 right on the spot if, say, you're private driver does not show up? i am coming in late, and i have someone picking me up .... but just in case ....
We all have our favorites.. But I cannot recommend Alfred enough! When my wife and I first went to Negril, we booked through Expedia. The booking included a shuttle to Legends.. a bus situation - lots of stops - luggage falling on our heads - not a great experience.. Then we found Alfred.. He treated us like gold! We've been traveling with him ever since. We are riding with him this Saturday! SO LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!!!
actually just use JUTA for airport transfer........ $18US one way per person
you can book this online and reserve it at; http://www.jutatoursnegrilltd.com/co...servations.htm
you walk out into the main lobby after immigrations/customs and they have a station right there.........
you tell them who you are and pay them..........then they'll direct you to a van/bus that takes you to Negril........
they usually wait till they have a least three people before they leave the airport...........
they'll make one stop for beer and bathrooms etc.......and then drop off people when they reach Negril..........
mi have used Clives for years because they stop wherever you ask them........
like Biggas, KFC, Cambios, HiLo or anywhere you wish.......
nuttin like having your J's, snacks, rum and beer in your room the first hour you are der.....
now Clives charge $30US one way so mi have to decide if it's worth the extra $12 for that extra service.....
think if mi wanting to get Negril quick......which is usual for this guy..........mi goin with Clives
Cool Runnings, Marko
JUTA usually charges you $20 one way right at their station in the lobby if you forgot to reserve online or didn't do it online beforehand...
you can always reserve it online and then not use the service if your driver shows.......
it will save you $2 bucks if you decide to use JUTA cause of no driver........
mi used JUTA for about twenty years without any problems before I changed to Clives ten years ago.........
Cool Runnings, Marko
Me too Marko.
Started with Juta for many moons.
Those drivers with juta were pretty cool.
The first time a guy from Juta grabbed my suitcase, said follow me, then he wanted a tip when we were at the bus.
"Dude, i could have done that myself," but he grabbed the suitcase too quick for me, so I followed and paid the tip.
I used Juta many times, can't remember what made me change over to Clives, but I did.
Now i go with Clives and his crew all the time. (free drink with Clives)
Hmmmm, I may go back to Juta if the $30.00 starts to hurt my wallet.
I am with Juta again after Clives, Alfreds, etc. No fuss no wait--and yes warning to the new--do not let them grab your bags-- hang on to them unless you want to tip someone to drag them 50 feet to a van. Have never relinquished my suitcases yet, even when I have had two plus snorkeling gear. Me fine, mon.
Juta negril for $20US you can go to the website
Juta is the only way to go. Walk to the Juta desk, lay down a 20 and hop on the bus.
just make sure you go to the Juta NEGRIL desk - it's to the left as you exit the door from luggage. Don't go to the main Juta MoBay desk -- they will not tell you they are not the "Negril Chapter" and will charge you much more for the same ride.
If you are looking for the most scenic way to get there, and want/need to get on the beach fast, fly Timair from Mobay to Negril. What a view!!!!! If I remember right it was about $125.00 for both of us. We flew from Negril to Mobay. You can check their website for all information.
kenny.tours@cwjamaica.comb Booth # 2 at the airport
If in MBJ go to desk 11 be patience... let them know ur going to Negril they will ask u to wait outside remember be patience have a red stripe at the bar. then bargain with the driver when approached. 25 to 30 each. Good luck. Dan
