I always fly American Airlines from ALB to CLT to MBJ but just found a great deal on Delta from ALB to ATL to MBJ -- I'm not used to Delta Airlines, are they okay? All of my flights on American Airlines have been smooth running, never a delay or any problems. If any of you have experienced flying to JA from Atlanta, I would appreciate any information you might have. The flight on Delta is about $350 less per person, so a considerable savings.

I too fly both Delta and American. Will be using Delta thru ATL on the way there and American on the way home this month. Never had any problems with either.Quote:

Agree with Ron Mon, love Delta. And although the airport is huge, the trams make it very easy to get around.

as an aside, I am a strict Southwest/JetBlue person... last summer I had to fly Delta and I was thoroughly impressed. I paid a lot for a last minute flight, but it was really a beautiful experience. The onboard experience was pretty top notch (compared to the basic, yet excellent, Southwest experience). Next time I need to fly to Montana, I'll be looking for deals early on and using Delta again, for sure!
We flew Delta this past Nov . We got to our gate and they were playing Bob Marley the whole time we waited. A really nice way to set the stage.

We always fly Delta to MBJ and have never had a problem. This time we need to use American thru CLT so hoping we have an experience like you usually do.
My flight is (Delta) IND - ATL - or (AA) IND -CLT - MBJ/KIN. Both the ATL and CLT airports are super easy to navigate. Over 100 trips to Jamaica through these airports and I have only had 2 delays of over an hour (both Delta) - one of those was in ice storm in ATL - Delta put me in a hotel overnight and comped my meals. I take the 1st flight out of IND, use the shortest layover available (usually), and take the afternoon flight from Jamiaca returning home.
We've gone through Atlanta with Delta a few times without issue. Once, we even were able to make our connecting flight in ATL on the way to MBJ with only a 40 minute layover. Our arrival gate was about as far away from our departure gate as possible too. The "Automatic People Mover" (tram/train system) at ATL is very quick and efficient. Though I did have a sigh of relief as I looked out the plane and spotted our bags being loaded.
Hi, I've had very mixed results with Delta. If you leave your starting point on time, Delta would be fine (I've gone thru Atlanta myself and I'm actually impressed in how efficient that airport is for being so large). But if you're late getting to Atlanta and miss your connection, Delta has no heart at all and didn't put much effort in helping me find a stand by flight down (I had to go thru stand by 3 times at 3 different gates the day I missed my connection and every time, the people at the desk wouldn't tell me if I would make the flight until they finally let me on the 3rd flight. The 1st and 2nd time, I found out by them closing the door to the airplane and walking away. Thus, also forcing me to use my internet connection on my smart phone to find the next available flight for standby). That was Nov of 2016 and I haven't flown Delta since. But I do understand trying to find a good flight deal in today's ever increasing flight costs (and I could be lured back to Delta if I found a big enough deal). So make sure you come prepared (charged smart phone with maybe expedia app or web link to atlanta airport already installed on your device, or even a list of other Delta flights going to MoBay later that day) just in case you have problems with your connection.
