New Years Eve in Negril this year
I will be in Negril with my family on New Years Eve this year. We are staying at Riu Negril. Does anyone know if the hotels usually have New Year's Eve Parties? I feel it's a little to far away to call the hotel and ask. also are there any other cool places to go on NYE? I searched on the web and a lot of the info was from a few year ago. We get in at 3:00 p.m. on NYE, so I want to kind of have a plan. Thanks for any suggestions :)

Here is a poster from last years Fireworks Show at Alfreds. It is an annual event and draws a big crowd.

Re: New Years Eve in Negril this year
cleveland9, when you say ''family'' do you have young children ? As Accompong posted, Alfred's is the place to be for New Years, but not with youngsters. If you are staying at the Riu,i am guessing they will have a celebration of some sort.

THank you, I have a 21 year old and my son is 15, so still maybe to young? But not young children.

My guess is you all will have a blast. New Years this year was hopping, and the vibe on the beach, even late into the night was on point. I would feel comfortable taking my 15/21 along for the ride.

cleveland9, okay, wasn't sure how young...that age they will have an awesome time in Negril. I think you can make a day of it, take the family up to Rick's café, the boys will enjoy watching the divers dive from the cliffs. There is a nice pool, as well. A little spendy there, but good for maybe some wings and drinks. Then you can have some dinner at one of the amazing places on the cliffs, a higher buck place would be Ivan's at Catch a falling star resort, or maybe a more casual but equally delicious place like Chicken Lavish. Lots of places to wander up there, and then go to the beach . There will lots of activity, and as mentioned, Alfred's puts on a really great fireworks display. Also a lot of times they have a fun volleyball game going on, and a swimming dock to swim out to, so, again , would be fun for the boys ~

Since you don't get in until 3:00pm (or later, if that is when the flight comes in), just go to the RIU Negril and rest up and eat. No reason to head out until after 9pm. Maybe you can contact one of the drivers on the board or one outside the resort to take you down to Alfreds and pick you up when you are ready to come back. Prices go up a little so keep that in mind when getting a price. Getting down to Alfreds won't be that hard but getting a ride back just may be.
Enjoy yourself. Lots of room around there to recreate.

Oh shoot, sorry, I didn't see the part where you do not get in until 3. Well, then I guess have dinner at your place then and go down to the beach for fireworks. I have a great driver / friend, that I have had for years, that will be available later in the evening for your family to get back, if you are interested , pm me, and i will give you info !
Re: New Years Eve in Negril this year
Thanks again! Can't wait to be there :)

If your plane doesn't land until 3 in Montego Bay - you are going to have a slow ride to Negril - just as an FYI so that you don't plan on much before the beach.
