Re: Sunset Catamaran tours
The Yamon Red Stripe Catamaran Cruise will be perfect for you!
You can find them located between the Rondel Resort & Boat Bar.
Or, one of their sales people including Myrna the owner (often wearing a very oversized beach hat) will be strolling the beach.
You won't have a problem waiting to book them when you get there in early Nov.
Re: Sunset Catamaran tours
Thank you Bnewb! I appreciate your help. Is Rondel near White Sands?

Yes, it's close...maybe a 5 min. walk.
Re: Sunset Catamaran tours
Hi lahoge, +1 @Bnewb's recommendation. I visited Negril in July and did the Yamon Red Stripe Catamaran Cruise - I think the crew was different than the usual one, because Myrna's son and his girlfriend was visiting and in charge, but I'm sure it's fine regardless of crew. Our trip was magical, great music, good company.
We had a blast
Re: Sunset Catamaran tours

Re: Sunset Catamaran tours
About the Red Stripe cruise; I don't know if this has happened to anyone else or not. We took the cruise last Feb and the cruise itself is great. The food is fantastic, lots of drinks, great rum punch and they stopped twice for us to snorkel. We had about 15 to 20 people onboard and they kept insisting some people had to go to the back of the boat as we were nose heavy. As cats go the Red Stripe is small, and we enjoy that aspect, but we were a group of 6 and we ended up spending a lot of time at the back of the boat. It was disappointing. You really don't have a comfortable spot back there and when you go out on a cat who doesn't want to be in the front? I'm posting a photo of the Red Stripe loaded like the day we went out. We really enjoy the small boat and smaller group, but we may find ourselves on the Tortuga next trip as we don't want to spend the cruise in the back of the boat again.Attachment 51685

I agree, I was on there with 20 people and I thought it was too crowded. I'd only go on that boat if you can keep it down to about a dozen people, Else find a larger Cat....

Irie Always:
Some of the big boats come from MoBay and you can call the numbers supplied by Ukran1ans above. We just asked Jeffrey the beach security/lifeguard dude at White Sands and he hooked us up. Tortuga is a nice boat, lots of room, lots of booze, great staff. It's just not as personal a cruise. We chose to stay on the boat when we got to Rick's as we don't need to spend big bucks on drinks and get pestered for money for the cliff divers when we already bought our drinks on the boat and have an even better view from there. That's when we got a chance to relax with the crew and chat with the guys. Nice guys that work hard every day. For us any day on a boat is a good day.
Re: Sunset Catamaran tours
I must add, that while I am sure the other cat rides are fine, what makes the Yah Mon Red Stripe ride so awesome, is the crew, You get a chance to really get to know them, and they become part of your '' party '', while still getting unbelievable service. For the last couple years, a group of over 20 boardies have chartered it, and it was the highlight of the week. Four hours, and I don't think anyone ever had to wait more than a minute for a cold Red Stripe or a cocktail, and that's amazing for our group ! Food was awesome, and hot, and the music was great. I couldn't imagine taking any other cat ride Yah Mon !!

Thank you Juliana! I will do that. :)
Re: Sunset Catamaran tours
I might finally jump on this trip. I've always viewed it as too touristy, but I've gotten over that pretense. :biggrin-new:
Re: Sunset Catamaran tours
They did get a bigger boat. Went on it in July. I’ll try to dig up a picture to share.

Re: Sunset Catamaran tours
Well would you look at that! Looks just right to me. Smaller than the huge boats but big enough to spread out. We'll be on that boat for sure. Maybe twice!

Re: Sunset Catamaran tours
No doubt! I would like to know more as well. Now how much to get on, but when do they make you get off! Will want to spend a few hours on there, but not if the fee is by the hour or something, I mean it should be free if you're drinking, but I know that won't be the case. I just hope it's reasonable and you get to stay onboard for awhile.

Yeah, I heard it's pricy when I saw it in Sept but I figure it's worth doing once...

Re: Sunset Catamaran tours
The floating tiki bar is called Tiki Pon Da Sea. (they're on FB) I believe it holds 6 - 8 people. I sent them a PM last week and this is what they wrote back to me: "Hi:). It’s 60 usd per person for an hour and half cruise to bloody bay and back down 7 mile beach. This includes beer and rum punch:)". Now personally for me I can think of a better and more fun way (Ya Mon Cat) to spend $120 for hubby and me.
Re: Sunset Catamaran tours
Bummer. $120 is too much for 90 minutes.
