Recommendation - WestEnd?
Hey Boardies!
I always spend my last day or 2 on the Cliffs for my Bday reach (Boardies Bashful week):excitement: and I've stayed at CFS (My favorite) love the cottage rooms, food, view, service everything... Tensing Pen I loved just the same but couldn't live without the "Tv" and now I'm looking for a new experience. Where do you all recommend staying?
Just FYI... I have my eye on Idle Awhile & Samsara :cool-new:
Re: Recommendation - WestEnd?
Hey Iriechic,
The only place I tried was The Coral Seas Cliff,
Nice swimming pool and bar right there.
Not fancy, but clean and great Sunset views.
P.S.
Go to Pushcart Restaurant while in the Westend.
Re: Recommendation - WestEnd?
Check out Xtabi - we enjoyed it a lot but found that we missed Ivan's even more.

Re: Recommendation - WestEnd?
We have been to Samsara on the cliffs our last two trips. Being able to go to Legends on the beach is the best of both worlds.
Re: Recommendation - WestEnd?
Samsara doesn't even come close to CFS.
I had a bad experience there for multiple reasons a few years back and posted about it here, and got a lot of flack for it from the people who for some reason love the place.
They are on my "never again" list.
Re: Recommendation - WestEnd?
I agree with Markospoon on Coral Seas Cliffs..about to spend my 12th year there of 25 West End reaches...small....quite...great vibe from it & the staff....can't beat the nice size pool attached to the restaurant/bar & the awesome view of Mother Ocean from it..as well as from 20 of the 22 rooms too...always feel save with our night time security......soon come in early '19
Re: Recommendation - WestEnd?
Idle Awhile Cliffs is beautiful and very quiet. Nicest pool on the West end!
Re: Recommendation - WestEnd?
yeah mi been spending time up at Coral Seas Cliffs since the place went through a remodel....
it's very relaxing and a good ladder to get out of the ocean....and the pool has a deep end....
and by the pool they have a bar and restaurant which is nice and it has a good vibe.....
they did a ton of tile work from the main area down to the wata area....it's beautiful
yea if mi was coming on vacation.....this would be one of my top choices for the money
it's nicer than when the lady leased the place and was calling it Sunset on the Cliffs..
this guy at Coral Seas Cliff Resort by the pool.....

Cool Runnings, Marko

Re: Recommendation - WestEnd?
Again Marko can't agree more...this past year absolutely everything has new paint...I mean everything!!!...new AC's...new TV's...some new room furniture....new bedding & linens...towels...bathrooms are being updated as mine was this '18 reach....pool & sea lounge chairs...& a ton of money was spent on new sea walls plus the expansion of the sea side sunning/lounging area...all this for a very reasonable rate too...yes I was there during the tenure of the property being least...'07-'17...& the last 2-3 years of that didn't go so well for some..I personally didn't have any issues...but when Ricky took it back late '17 it was been reborn to what it is now & always getting better...less the 90 days before my return...
Re: Recommendation - WestEnd?
Nice photos Marko! Thanks for sharing! :encouragement:

Re: Recommendation - WestEnd?
Careful not to let them nickel and dime you to death. And I wouldn't eat there. I know you've already booked it, but Home Sweet Home is higher on my list.

We stayed in a pillar house years ago. It’s a great choice with the same views as the caves or Rockhouse a lot cheaper. I agree with that comment on food. We did the all-inclusive and it was pretty weak. You could only get a draft beer and red stripe wasn’t even in the all-inclusive then. They are also so many great restaurants Within walking distance or a short cab ride.

You’re correct. I ment you could not get bottled beer as part of AI. All inclusive was cheap, I just think you can do a lot better. You really can’t go wrong at all the locally sourced restaurants
Site note:Watched the Pittsburgh/Green Bay super bowl years ago across the street with some locals fibo and string bean at a little restaurant on a small tube tv. It was an amazing time.

Our first stay on the West End (6 years ago) was at Samsara in a Pillar House and we LOVED it! We did not do AI as we like to get out to different places for food and drink.
Have a great stay!
