anyone planning on staying at skylark?
Haven’t stayed but walked thru yesterday.
Very clean, great friendly staff.
Can’t comment on their food.
Found the whole setting a little cold, appearance wise.
Kind of a new wave, neo style hotel.
Not the beach house tropical like setting.
The funk neo half moon sun umbrellas over each chair was a little off putting.
Course to each their own. Just not our style

We ate there last week and the food was delicious. I had the fish sandwich on coco bread and the jerk seasoned fries. It was amazing, but I was disappointed that it was not lion fish like someone posted a few months ago. Two different employees told me it was bass. But still a delicious sandwich!
I have been craving that sandwich since I wrote the thread about it, although I didn't say what kind of fish it was, didn't know...glad to hear that it is still delicious. !!!
We've had that fish sandwich many, many times & we've never been told by the Chef nor did it say on the menu or Negril.com that it was Lionfish....it's dyammm delicious though!Quote:

Price a tad high but what we had was excellent.
Regular escovitch snapper is 28. Usd
Pretty awesome elsewhere for much cheaper.

three weeks from today we are at Skylark. rare we try a new spot but decided to go for it
We will be there 3 weeks from today also, party of 4 from Minnesota, I wish it was sooner as the real winter cold has just kicked in .
We went there to eat dinner in December...….. Great resort all fixed up to Rock House standards...… But... They have to decide if the Restaurant is going to be a Restaurant or a Disco...… They had a DJ playing music and it was so loud you couldn't hear anyone talking at the table.... we ended up moving outside to finish but you could still hardly hear..... The food was awsum but …….. Hope they corrected that issue...… Just my $.02
kwhizz it was loud because you were eating in the bar section. The actual restaurant section opened a couple of days before the new year.

We are here��. Understated elegance. We are very pleased. Last few years at Country Country and Treehouse and we like them both but this is definitely a step up. Rooms nicely appointed and the colours are very “Caribbean”. The real treat is the food. It is very, very good. From the fish to the jerk and the breakfast it is all very good. Who even knew that jerk corn coated in coconut was a thing???. It is a must try. Staff friendly and efficient. Top notch. Two small complaints - We really like the vibe of Miss Lily’s and find the dinner time dining area a little bland and lacks a bit in atmosphere and sometimes the music is a bit “new” for us fans of roots reggae. Not really issues and definitely do not diminish our love of the place. If this is on your list I highly recommend giving it a try. I expect it will be in our future rotation.
Great glad to hear this. Were you able to negotiate your price? Or paid the listed rate of $200/night?

Cool staff, very friendly and helpful, but I think some of the wait staff are very new and miss the mark sometimes.
Bar drinks are inconsistent, and not cheap.
There is also an odd (for me) mix of guests. Lots of the wealthy entitled crowd, and a decidedly hipster crowd...ugh :(
Not a real friendly group
I feel very out of place, but I am enjoying everything as I always do.
Next year, somewhere else. :)
