Sunset After Dark Opens for the Season

Chef Patrick Robinson has opened Sunset After Dark Restaurant/Bar for the season ! We were there last Jan./Feb. many times and the food is outstanding.Great Portions and Great Vibes right by the Bay side on the West end Road . They are just past the school right across from Negril Hardware & Haberdashery. The Burgers are Legendary and you usually end up taking some home 'cause its hard to finish it (check the photos on Trip Advisor & Face Book) . We also tried a mess of different Seafood (King fish/Snapper , Shrimp & Lobster) and it is fine eating. Don't just take my word. Wait till PoolGuyWindsor & Biggs of the Week weigh in with their reviews. The West end is exploding with great new dining options .I will see you all there after Dec. 2nd when we arrive back in Negril..!

Yeamon I hope I get some royalties on that burger picture.lol The first time I stopped in I told Patrick Yeah, yeah I have heard this best burger claim before, prove it! Well its really good. Will be there soon and have to try the chicken wings and a few more of Patrick,s speacials.

I'm guessing you close down for low season, so with that said do you plan to be open thru the end of April?

Patrick plans to stay open year round this year, his plan is to have staff and his chef in training keep things going while he back in Canada.

I was there last Friday with my wife , Kim - IT WAS OUTSTANDING ! The DJ was playing some great tunes and the crowd was hopping ! 2 for 1 Rum Punch's ($350.00 Ja) and after 3 you are wobbly. Patrick is training a couple of chefs to run the place during the summer season when he goes home to Edmonton and the place is just getting better & better. Super Vibe ,Great Staff and outstanding food. The Burgers are Legend , but anything they cook especially Seafood is top drawer. Make the trip to West end and check it out. Patrick was talking about setting up a shuttle or paying for your taxi out there if you are on the beach so ask him 1st..

Last year you had a sauteed vegetable entree; I don't see it or any other non-meat/fish entrees on your new menu.... do you have any offerings for folks who do not want to eat flesh or dairy?

So is there a Happy Hour there and if they do, what time is it?

I would suggest you just ask Patrick if its more Vegetarian or Vegan meals you are looking for. He is a trained Chef so would doubt there is a lot he is unable to cook. Check them on Facebook and send him a message or look for his phone number on some of the enclosed IP address' and call over. I know he was talking about posting menus on the Beach Hotels offering the fare for the Taxi there and also setting up a delivery service. He is an up and comer and serious about making this into a Negril tradition and destination. Wanda - If you are out there maybe you can forward this info to Patricks attention ! Thanks

I was just there a few hours ago, and had ordered the Super Loaded Burger and fried chicken wings with mashed potato. The burger is the most flavorful burger I have EVER had in my life! The plain fried chicken wings and mashed potato are very addicting. Beautiful location and friendly staff and atmosphere. Chef Patrick is indeed very gifted.

1500j for lobster is not bad at all .....

Putting this place on the list for our sans child trip!

Patrick, the cook, appears to be a true genius .... did he formerly work in a Negril restaurant or hotel?

He lives in Edmonton where he works as a chef and does catering.

I discovered the place by accident just riding my bicycle looking for dinner, beautiful set up! Had a nice chat with Patrick and ordered Coconut Rum Curry Shrimp and some rum punch, my mouth is still watering when I think about that dish, it was delicious! I will be back :)

I ate there last week and was the best meal I ever had in Negril..I had the catch of the day..I usually go to Negril to drink and not eat..but wow..was it ever good..reasonable too...

Good to know...after 20 years of coming to negril i'm always looking for quality good eats on the west end road. be there 1/26-3/1 soon come.

mi arrive Jan 21st in ten days and looking forward to trying out da Hot Dog Plates for lunch.........
cause mi been lookie for 30+ years for a good hot dog in Jamaica.......
the only good one mi have had that was half decent.....
was back at SeaWinds Resort(called Sunset now) in 1988......
so hopefully Sunset after Dark will pull thru.......
mi guessing the Fish Dinners are pretty good der........

What time is opening? We tried to go here for lunch last year and we were disappointed that the restaurant was closed.

Was disappointed last April when it was closed when we went. Will try again this April :)
It was -30c this morning here in Ottawa... Negril can not come fast enough :)

some places are not open all year round unfortunately.........
pretty hard to keep a place open when you only get 1 or 2 customers a day......
you should try going to Negril in June and July.........lol
but still a lot of places open then.........just not as many........
wi get spoiled in High Season for sur........cause everyone is open for business.......lol
