Hotels were never ordered closed. Hotels closed on their own from lack of visitors.
There are two open hotels in Negril.
Restaurants were never ordered closed, most turned to carry out but if they can demonstrate that they have social distancing, they are allowed to have no more than 10 diners. Which kinda makes it cost ineffective.
I have no idea where this "info" is coming from, where did hear this?
I received an e-mail from one of the beach hotels that they were taking reservations starting on 6/1. I guess I never read that they were ordered closed, just that they were closing for a time undetermined. I guess a lot hinges on when Jamaica allows flights to come and go at more regular frequency.
The remaining visitors are being asked to "extend" into July... To keep from overstaying on their visa.
Some flights in July are already being cancelled, so a June 1st date would be incredible!
But it doesn't seem likely at this point...
Which Negril hotels have remained open?
Negril Beach Club and Travelers have about a dozen folks each.
Negril Escape has some tourist staying there too...…..

Just as an FYI, if you are stuck here and your hotel is closing, please check Seastar Inn and/or Blue Skies.
Stay safe and keep in touch.
