So if we are quarantined to our resort, I'm starting to think the dreaded All Inclusive might be the way to go. I'd hate to think we were staying at White Sands and couldn't walk across the street to get some food at Best in the West. Maybe I could pay a local to get some for me. Hmmmmm........

I just don't think we'll be quarantined to our resort. WIth conversations I've had with Rob here, if a place is certified as 'covid-19 safe', you can visit that place as 'an attraction' as long as you follow the covid-19 protocols. Why else would they be allowed to open???
That is what it looks like in the most recent update I have seen. We are still planning to visit in December.
I am still keeping our fingers crossed for our December trip. We are supposed to do three days at Westender and another nine days at White Sands. Not sure how that will work as far as splitting our time between two resorts. Also checking out if the company I work for requires self quarantine for 14 days after international travel. Good grief it's been too long since we've been to Jamaica! We really need this trip to happen!
Yeah, I've explored that and as long Jamaica maintains it's excellent record with covid (right now they're a 'level 2' by the state dept only because of their crime rate, not because of covid) quarantine won't be required by my state or company.
I think it is a little risky to use today's situation with the COVID virus and project what things will be like in November and December when you (as well as I) travel to Jamaica. Jamaica has too much to lose if they don't keep a lid on things and they can't afford to ban travelers completely from the US.
I am hoping Jamaica will get better and better at working with a set of US visitors who will be coming from states where there is currently no sign of control. Something needs to happen HERE in the US to make things better in Jamaica.
A lot of good and bad can happen in the months between now and then.

I completely agree and meant to put in my original post but I know things will change between now and December. However, I'm a planner and I'm always trying to look forward plan contingencies if needed. I really think things will look a lot better by December. I'm guessing probably even look much better after their November elections. Haha

Other than the USA "it is not smart to travel right now", the wording of the warning is virtually the same as it has been for quite some time.

Wow, I found your response a little snippy. I have already read the link you added. While I have a college degree it is in healthcare. It isn't in law so I found the wording confusing. All I see mentioned is water parks and excursions. Nothing is mentioned about crossing the street to a restaurant like I mentioned in my original post.Quote:

We have the same concern and scheduled month of travel - my wife and I are both considered essential workers so with a few more temperature checks we should be good to go - at least under current CDC guidelines. I hope the same for you and yours!
