Question about JA Customs Forms
Good morning! Only 7 days left till we leave for Negril! So i just have a quick question about the customs forms that we used to have to fill out on the plane before landing at Mobay. Have these now been totally replaced by the online version? Because i just read a recent post where someone from the UK had to fill out the paper form. Club Mobay sent me a link to fill out the form online- Should i just print these out and bring with me just in case?
Anything else i should know? So we're getting our tests from Walgreens- PCR- so praying we get the results back in time and then I'll do the Travel Authorizations today. Also wondering if the AA Verify Fly App is any good or should i just bring paper versions of everything?
Sorry for the all the questions. On a side note, do they still serve alcohol in first class because I'm going to need it lol.

Re: Question about JA Customs Forms
Added question to yours BA, can you not do a Rapid antigen test for arrival into Jamaica. I know us Canadians need the PCR for coming back.
Sorry to hijack this.

I'm old school & print most things out. I've also seen problems with immigration not finding the online version.
As an American...you don't need a PCR test to enter Jamaica or exit Jamaica back to the US...you only require the much less costly & quicker Antigen test.
Re: Question about JA Customs Forms
Thanks Lisa! So I'm a bit hesitant to take the rapid antigen test (even though it's accepted) because i heard American Airlines can be a pain in the but about it and i didn't want to risk being held up because an Agent isn't aware of the rules. That being said, i also don't want to risk not getting the results back in time- ugh, so therein lies my dilemma :-) I just can't wait to get through all this crap and sit on the beach with my girls with my rum punch or dirty banana!

I'm not sure why or how American Airlines would be a pain the butt about?!
The airlines coming into Jamaica only require a negative Antigen or PCR test...don't bother taking the PCR test if you don't have (and you don't have to).
PCR testing is way more costly & turn around time much, much longer...24-48 hours compared to 15 min. in most cases.

Ok thank you. Do you know what I’ll do is I’ll print out the regulations on visitjamaica.com and highlight where they say antigen test just in case I get a difficult person. Thank you for your advice.
Re: Question about JA Customs Forms
BA, thanks for asking my questions for me. We're due to arrive Tues. 8/17 to LTU and hope to meet up there with you and other boardies who have said they will be in Negril during that time. I am so happy to get out of Louisiana for a couple of weeks and go someplace where they actually take the virus seriously.
Re: Question about JA Customs Forms
@yardie like wise, we’ll meet you at LTU! Here’s to some really strong rum punch lol.
So happy to say our travel authorization was accepted. Filling out custom forms now.
Re: Question about JA Customs Forms
So an interesting tidbit I discovered is that you actually fill out the Customs information at the same time you fill out the Authorization! And I think I may have complicated things by declaring 400 dollars in gifts that we are bringing down with us so that will mean extra wait time at the airport ugh!
Re: Question about JA Customs Forms
This is the link to the Customs/Immigration Form, needed in addition to the Travel Authorization documents. Once completed and submitted there is no option to print.

Got it thank you. I just have two more to complete and then i think we're good to go. i think i made a mistake though and declared on both forms that we're carrying $400 in gifts when in fact only one of us is carrying that. Hoping that won't be an issue at the airport.
Re: Question about JA Customs Forms
I am assuming they are still handing out the forms on the plane before you land as well? Of course I can never find my pen to fill it out...
Re: Question about JA Customs Forms
We just returned from Jamaica 2 days ago. Before we left, I contacted Visit Jamaica and asked the question about the C5 Immigration form that we used to fill out. I was told that those don't need to be filled out as the information is the same as that contained in the Travel Authorization form. We did not complete the form and the airline we flew (Delta) did not distribute any to us. When we got to Sangster, there were workers handing out the C5 Immigration forms that were not distributed on the plane and that we did not need to complete. One of them told me that I needed to fill one of those forms out. I said no I don't and showed her my Travel Authorization form and she waived me forward. When we reached the Immigration Officer, we did not need to show either the negative Covid test form or the Travel Authorization as our passport apparently contained all the information necessary, nor did they ask for the C5 Immigration Form. Same at Customs.
In summary, our experience was that as long as you have completed the Travel Authorization form, have a negative Covid form, show these to the agent when you check in at your departure city, you do not need to fill out the C5 Immigration form.

This is what I thought! As I'm filling out each TA form (4 in total) it's asking me the exact same information as what's on the C5 Form. But just to be safe i filled out the C5 Forms too, except i still haven't filled out for the girls, which i was going to do.
Quick question for you, did you end up declaring anything? And if so, did you have to go to a different line? We booked with Club Mobay, so I'm hoping the Rep there can guide us through.
Re: Question about JA Customs Forms
Oh and i scheduled our appointments for the Rapid antigen tests at CVS, FYI @bnewb. Per comments here, I'm not expecting any difficulties. Soon come!!

We have never claimed anything so I don't know from first hand experience. But, I know they have different lines at Customs for those who have something to declare.

Thanks, that's what i was afraid of. Omar is just bringing some games and sneakers and stuff for his friends there. Didn't want to lie and say we aren't bringing anything because last time they questioned him about at as most Jamaicans from overseas carry stuff with them.
Re: Question about JA Customs Forms
I filled out our forms online with the preauthorization thing. We had to fill out paper forms as well on the plane so I’m not sure what the point was. We flew AA.
Had a great trip. Enjoy yours.

Re: Question about JA Customs Forms
ok, i'll have my pen and flight, hotel information handy just in case we have to fill them out on the plane, which i somehow have the feeling we will. We're so excited to just collapse on the beach at this point :-)
