Another friend has passed.
We were lucky to met Dave at the 2018 Meeting of the board. We had enjoyed visits to his home which he called Zion Hill.
Our friend Captain David Pierucci
Of Zion Hill. He was a avid Negril lover. He loved his Jamaican Family. Linston Dobson.
David V. Pierucci, 79, of St Augustine, FL, passed away at his residence on April 4th, 2022. He was born March 17th, 1943 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. David was a retired instructor with the Coast Guard, after which, he worked as a computer consultant. He was also a Past Master and current Secretary of Ashler Lodge #98 F&AM. David is survived by his wife, Virginia Pierucci and other family members. Private services will be held at a later date.

Re: Another friend has passed.
Few things would affect me more than the news that Capt'n D passed away!! I have over the past several years kept in touch with him during his path of downward health. Somehow i always figured he would prevail.... Today reading his passing i am deeply in sorrow!!! RIP Captain D
Re: Another friend has passed.
Miss Ginny, Linston & Family....my heart goes out to you All.
There was nothing better than watching Capt D renew his love for Jamaica these past years & I personally loved catching/hearing the late, sometimes very late (maybe a bit rum induced) phone calls between Rob & David!
Our hearts are heavy...but as Rob said... we're having your favourite shot of rum in your honour & thinking of you with love.
RIP Capt D ❣️
Re: Another friend has passed.
Captain D was an Oldtimer to Jamaica and Negril especially. I remember seeing his Sail boat rental shops on both ends of Negril Beach back in the late 70's. He has contributed many fine posts here including numerous old photos from his days as a boat captain as well as his boat rental shops. Between Covid and his own health issues I am led to believe that he has been unable to visit Jamaica and Zion Hill in some time although I could be wrong. I have had several conversations with Dave via PM and we had always agreed that meeting up would be a fun thing to do. Unfortunately it won't be in this life. I do hope that those who knew Capt D better than I will post some stories and photos about their friendships and times together.
Re: Another friend has passed.
Terrible news and a tremendous loss. I too will celebrate him with a rum. Sincere Condolences to Linston.
Re: Another friend has passed.
I am so sorry to hear this. I never met him but loved reading his posts. My sympathies to his family and close friends.
Re: Another friend has passed.
Very Sad, The Captain and his family will be in our prayers. Lifting a glass of Rum in you honor tonight. R.I.P.
Re: Another friend has passed.
Sad news. So sorry to hear this.
Re: Another friend has passed.
CaptD.
You will be remembered as a generous contributor to this board.
Your ancient Negril history lessons and photos captivated all of us over the years.
That little project up on Zion Hill was a wonder to watch grow and grow and grow with your ingenuity and hard work.
We never met in person, but we share the same love of Negril and Jamaica.
Rest in peace,
VVHT
Re: Another friend has passed.
Rest in peace, Captain. We have fond memories of our sole visit to the farm, wish we could have stayed longer.

Sorry to hear this news. He was a very familiar poster. One thing for sure was his love for his family and his dear Jamaica.

This made me feel a little melancholy this morning...Capt D was supposed to be back on Zion Hill this month.
Capt D was ill for such an incredibly short period of time...this is reminding me (again) to please hug our loved ones, make amends where needed & not to put off living your dreams❣️
Rip Capt D
