Hopefully the fine of $30,000 was J and not US!
Unbelievable!
"Hauling coal to Newcastle"?? XD
A couple of weeks ago, Appleton was more readily available in NC than Negril. I considered bringing some with me.
I Observered this; 1st paragraph: "...busted with three ounces of ganja..."; 4th paragraph: "...found to contain seven parcels..., each containing ganja weighing approximately three ounces."
I live in Southie aka South Boston, it's like a one day Mardi Gras. Best St. Patty's day story, there was a 4 story building being gutted on Broadway (the parade route). Some townies (think Matt Damon) breached the front door, put up a velvet rope and charged $5 a head for a byob party . The cop that told me the story said there must have 300 people in the building when they were called by the neighbors to clear it.
Great "man-bites-dog" story. My guess is the other 18 ounces were taken to "the lab" by customs for "further testing".
You can't fix stupid.
When cautioned, she reportedly said to the officer, “I was taking it to show my Jamaican friends that there is better weed in the United States.”
Simply not true anymore. The quality has changed in the last 5 years. No seeds. Trimming the buds. Knock ya on yer @$$ $hit.
If my math is correct, J$30,000 is about US$200. I'd say that's a far cry better than 30 days in a Jamaican prison. She just might have to pass on a couple of excursions this trip.
When I was at NBCC in February 2020, there was a couple from Maine that had brought some with them. Not sure if it was a specific strain they enjoyed or what the deal was but I thought it was strange for sure. They said they also purchased some local product.
