Beach Tales: Apr/May 2023
All good here at White Sands!
Immigration hall was packed, took over an hour to clear immigrations and customs.
Club Mo Bay is definitely worth it if you can book it!
Oz was waiting and off we go, quick stop at Tastee for some snacks.
Stopped at Valerie’s in Sandy Bay for a few cold ones, then 76 Lounge on the West End to pick up Rob. Great place if you haven’t been. Jodie runs a nice place.
Headed down to Mi Yard for a few more with Delroy, Loyd, Sybil and Curtis.
Oz dropped us off at White Sands. Check in was a breeze.
Quick trip to drop off the bags, then dinner and drinks at White Sands.
Early to bed .
Enjoy,
Happy

Looks like yet another Delroy has entered the narrative. This time at MiYard. Just how many Delroys are there in Negril?

Re: Beach Tales: Apr/May 2023
Around 5pm yesterday we grabbed a charter taxi from WS to LTU $25 US including tip.
A couple of cold ones at LTU, then walked to Seastar.
Osheen was tending bar and Delroy was in the kitchen cooking, yup another Delroy!
Delroy prepared a wonderful curried shrimp dinner and Osheen kept us happy at the bar!
Chris joined us for dinner and the Garrett stopped by.
Bruins lost the game, but we had a wonderful time. Lots of laughs!
After dinner we crossed the lane and visited mi friend Delroy (yup, another Delroy). He owns a shop/bar in the fisherman’s village. Grabbed two road beers and walked around looking for Baker, no luck.
Delroy from Seastar gave us a ride to Mi Yard and Garrett came along.
The gang at Mi Yard was in high spirits and we had a basement going on til the money ran out! Loyd was in prime for with his full que of rum!
We headed back to WS and called it a night.
Today is beach crawl day.
Enjoy,
Happy

76 Lounge is at the corner of Breadnut Lane and West End Road. Great little bar and the proprietor Jodie is very nice!
Ukrans, photos soon come! Operator Error!
Beach Crawl: met Rob at Fire Fly’s for a few. Norman the Patty Man strolled by, so we grabbed two beef and one beef & cheese patties. Very good patties and Norman is a great guy.
Then down to Tony’s Hut and Tony regaled us with the runnings of Negril.
It was great to meet two old time Boardies Russ and Sabrina at Tony’s! Lots of laughs and stories!
Then Alfred’s for a few more and a late lunch.
My friend and I walked back to WS and called it an early night.
Today is Pub Crawl day.
Enjoy,
Happy

Re: Beach Tales: Apr/May 2023
Walked up to Boardwalk Village, hit the ATM, then Coco la Palm for breakfast. Said hello to Mr. Gibson the beach security guard.
Banana pancakes were delicious and banana bread too!!
Walked the beach back to WS. Chilling on my patio.

If you're trying to find VVHTs "76 Lounge" it's actually called 87apple's Lounge. 👍

Pub Crawl:
Steve Positive Tours picked us up at WS, 1st stop was 87 Apple Lounge.
Jodie runs a nice bar and we had a great time!
Next stop was Lesa’s Bar across from Rick’s. Great bar to have a cold one and stay out of the Sun!
Rob called Gordo at Red Dragon to hold us a 1/2 lb of jerk pork.
Steve drove us to Red Ground and Red Dragon. Sheba kept the cold beers flowing across the bar. Pork was delicious.
We walked down to Colette’s Bar and her son was tending bar. We were seated outside enjoying the activity on the lane. Colette arrived from some shopping and joined us outside. Wonderful lady!
Steve gathered us up and off to Canoe.
Canoe has great views on Mary’s Bay. We had drinks and a late lunch.
Then off to Seastar for a few more rounds! Lots of laughs!
Steve got s back to White Sands safe and sound. He is a great driver and highly recommend!
We had a few at the WS bar and called it a night!

Re: Beach Tales: Apr/May 2023
Yesterday we had breakfast at Coco La Palm, then made reservations with Captain Kirk for snorkeling today.
Had some friends pick us up at WS for a long drive up in the hills.
Many stops, started in Sav, then up in the hills past Mayfield to Clarendon, all the way down to bamboo ave and Black River. One stop included chicken foot and cow skin soup, very very good!
We could see the Pelican Bar from one of our stops in Black River. Then we traveled north towards Blue Fields, stopped for some spicy shrimp!
Stopped at Ludicrous near Bluefields.
Next stop the QQ bar in Sav. Then back to Negril and the West End.
Wanted to stop at Nell’s and Pickles to see Barbara, but it was closed.
Can’t remember the next stop, but it was on the West End Road right at the entrance to the Fisherman ‘s Village. We left when two bus loads from One Love Bus Tour pulled in!
Walked through Fisherman’s village and stopped at a bar and met several current and former members of the Seastar Staff. Great times!
Ended up having dinner at Seastar with the crew, Osheen kept us all in line tending bar!
Flam drove us back to WS and was able to talk us through the police road block Norman Manley Blvd just past the bridge by the roundabout.
Enjoy,
Happy

Re: Beach Tales: Apr/May 2023
Yesterday after our morning walk to ATM, stopped at CLP for a big breakfast.
Back to the room to change and off to the beach to go snorkeling on the reef.
We used Captain Kirk, he keeps is boat near CLP.
Our boat captain was Dellie (yup, another Delroy). Short ride to the reef and I to the water!
Abundant fish of many favorites, swarms of Sargent Major fish surrounded us as we snorkeled. Some purple fan coral was seen.
We headed back to the beach and changed.
Off to Best of the West for lunch. 1/4 Fried chicken with rice and peas. Conch soup was delicious.
Back to WS to chill.
Charter taxi to Mi Yard for some very good times! Delroy, Loyd, Curtis, Pablo, Cybil, Paula, Ricky 22Pac, Baker, Garrett, Flam and Garfield. Late night, but fun night!
This morning we walked to ATM, coffee at CLP, then back to WS.
Baker is cooking at The Sommerville across from Le Mirage on the West End.
He invited us up for breakfast. Nice to meet Joyce the proprietor and the meal was delicious.
Stopped at Neil’s and Pickles, they were open, but no Barbara. Too early for a beer, so we did some shopping. Back to WS to chill for a bit.
Tonight is Seastar for dinner and drinks.
Enjoy,
Happy

Re: Beach Tales: Apr/May 2023
Chilled out at WS most of Friday afternoon. Garfield picked us up and drove us to the Car Wash for Rickie's Bluetooth Friday DJ show on the West End. Great times and excellent music!
Then on to Seastar for our final night dinner. Great times and lots of laughs at Seastar Inn. Oshine did a wonderful job managing the unruly crowd at the bar!!!
One last late night stop at Mi Yard and headed home.
Great times on this reach with a newcomer! He was open to seeing the real Jamaica and had a fantastic time!
Enjoy,
VVHT
