West End Tales: October 2023
Finally was able to book Club Mo Bay!
Turn the corner into the immigration hall and it was empty!
Club Mo Bay hostess was excellent!
Quick Immigrations processing.
No line at Duty Free and the credit card machine worked!
Remind me to NEVER do checked luggage again!
Last bag off the plane!
But a certain someone we all know needed his White Castle fix and it worked out okay in the end!
Oz was waiting patiently outside.
Off to Valerie’s in Sandy Bay. Great spot to stop on the way to Negril!
Checked into Seastar and had Delroy prepare curry chk with ric3 and peas! Very nice!
Osheen held court at the bar and Santana was Round for backup!
Too drunk to continue...
Happy having a blast!

Re: West End Tales: October 2023
Oh man! What a day!
It is late, I’m a bit drunk, but wanted to post a few items.
After a wonderful breakfast at Seastar, I jumped back in the pool, because it was awesome!
Chilled on my porch for a bit, just sucking in the sounds and scents of Jamaica!
Decide to watch the Patriots vs Bills at the bar.
Minding my own business, this distinguished gentleman sits a few stools down from me.
Watching the game, drinking cold red stripe, shooting the ****!
Him say “Are you VVHT?” , mi say, “Are you Silverfox”.
You know that sly smile you get when you are identified!
We had a wonderful afternoon swapping stories. Tom from Rick’s Cafe stopped by with Damion and the stories continued!! The coconut Telegraph was burning hot hot!
Flam and Baker stopped by to say hello and join in the conversation.
After a while we called a break and I went back to my room for a bit. Got board and headed back to the bar. Peter the builder was there and we drank and chatted for a while, great stories!
Baker showed up for dinner and Delroy prepared an excellent meal!
Curried Shrimp for me.
Baker gives me a look after dinner, time for Fisherman’s Village!
We walk across the lane.....
More tomorrow, mi done!
Enjoy,
VVHT aka Happy

Re: West End Tales: October 2023
So me and Baker head across the lane, thru the gauntlet into Fisherman’s Village.
First stop is Denise’s Rum Bar, Fernando the singer is there and in short order he is belting out several songs. Pablo who was a night security guard at Seastar back in the day was there as well. I buy a full que for the assembled crowd $1,500 J a few red stripes at $350 J and the party is started.
Later we head to Delroy’s Rum Bar for a few more.
All of a sudden Santana the cook from Seastar shows up and says “Happy, you are needed at Seastar quick quick”
More after Breakfast.
-
Re: West End Tales: October 2023
So, I suck down my beer and say goodbye, navigate the gauntlet safely and proceed to Seastar.
Delroy, Peter and Errol are standing at the gate to Seastar and wave me over.
Mi say wa gwaan?
Dem say “Happy, we were worried about you”!!
They were joking of course!!!
So we headed to the bar for a few more!
Did my laps in the pool, just waiting for breakfast.
Headed to Red Dragon, Colette’s, Canoe and maybe LTU for dinner and a sunset.
Enjoy,
VVHT aka Happy

I think there are prisons that are easier to get out of than that walk out of the gauntlet after a few stripes... :biggrin-new:

Re: West End Tales: October 2023
Monday’s Pub crawl was a success!
Steve Positive Tours picked Baker and I up at Seastar, headed downtown to hit the ATM.
The line at Scotia was HUGE!
Tried the one across the parking lot from Burger King , no go. Walked over to Value Master ATM, no luck!
Didn’t want to wait in line at Scotia, headed back to Seastar and grabbed my backup cash out of the safe.
We picked up Rob and headed to Red Ground and Red Dragon. Ragga Bones and Gordo were both on-site and the party began. 1/4 lb of jerk pork (watch out for the peppers and seeds)!
One guy who claimed to LOVE hot stuff tried a pepper or two!!! Oh well, tried to warn him!!!
We made our way to Colette’s. By this time Baker was a bit drunk so we poured him into a cab and sent him home!
Colette and Shamir kept the beers flowing. Great place to chill in Red Ground.
Headed downtown for some errands. The line at Scotia was much shorter, so I was able to replenish the cash.
A buddy pulled up on his scooter and gave me a ride to Rocky’s Sport Bar. Rob, Garret and Norris were at the bar and the Red Stripes flowed. Rocky was on-site and had a good chat with him. Rocky has been part of this board since the beginning 1996.
Rob gets a post that Silver Fox is at Canoe, we jump in the charter taxi and off we go.
We block Silver Fox from leaving and force him back inside Canoe for a few more rounds!!
Didn’t take much to twist his arm!!!
Had some food and then we went our separate ways.
Some how I ended up at Mi Yard.
Delroy, Loyd and Ricky were on the porch so we just ordered some drinks and got caught up with the runnings in Negril. Good times!
Grabbed a ride back to Seastar and had dinner with Baker. Headed over to CC’s for a few more cold ones.
Yesterday was a chill day. Pretty much spent the entire day at Seastar, just a few trips up the lane.
Rob came over for dinner and we spent the evening shooting the **** and sucking down cold ones.
Just got out of the pool and waiting for Baker to show up and cook breakfast.
Headed downtown at some point today.
Just chillin!!
Enjoy VVHT aKa Happy

Re: West End Tales: October 2023
Great day yesterday!
Manga drove us to town and beach road to run errands and hit the ATM.
Started our crawl back up the West End Road at Rocky’s, then SpotLight.
Grabbed a charter from Spotlight to Blingaz’s.
Ended up having dinner at Seastar. Rob head’s home.
Garret says there is a Birthday Bashment in the Fisherman’s Village tonight.
We walk over to Delroy’s yard and the party is in full swing. Music blasting, bonfire burning, people everywhere!
It was a wicked good time.
I’ll post videos when I get back home.
