~~ Sweetness Trip Report *NEW* - Last Night

...it was awesome to see the staff relaxed and enjoying themselves - they made me feel like family and provided me with exceptional service. Yetta, her husband and their friends came out on their scooters and it warmed my heart. Yetta you are such a bright light - thank you for coming and making my last night not sting so much (lol). My new friend Sharon (mentor, author, entrepreneur, philantropist, sister) came out and it was a gift to be in her presence a second time on my trip. Sweet Maxx from Easy Rock Internet Cafe made it out and seemed to enjoy the fish very much. Maxx is a great guy and I love Easy Rock. My sister needed my signature on a document for my father's estate and it was a breeze to stop there print it, sign it, scan it and email it back. Cheap and easy with Maxx's help. Bless you always my friend.

Hettie (heather) and Chad my new boardie friends came out and brought some delicious cabbage salad with a yummy scotch bonnet vinegarette -mmmm. They are a great couple and I enjoyed getting to know them.

Great moment when a couple came walking up I didnot recognize. I greeted them and they said they just checked in and were from Turkey. They were gorgeous, tired and starving from their long day of travel. Well it was a pleasure to invite them over for a feast and rum punch as their first JA experience. Good music, waves softly crashing, smells and laughter - they must have thanked me a hundred times and enjoyed themselves which of course made be so happy.

Family came out later and helped clean up. Exhausted but heart full - finally fell off for my last sleep of the visit. Slept so hard (lol).

...next up last morning and ride to Sangster that we all hate.

The party was FABULOUS! Chad and I could not stop talking about it for days and you can see the huge smile on my face in that last photo. The food was so delicious and we were so excited to try lionfish, which is incredible. Thank you sooooooo much Sweetness for hosting such a lovely dinner and gathering of nice people. It was so great to meet you and I can't wait to see you again! Seriously, that banana bread really should be illegal. Oh, and the pineapple cake...and the pasta salad...and the cheesy biscuits...

Sweetness, Im so sorry this has to end~ It was so nice meeting you on my last trip in and you are everybit of your name, One by one i read as each boardie has to go home, just like me..and as long as you were all there it was like I still was ...It was a pleasure sister and I hope to run into you again at our most favorite place in the world ,

lol Marko - I know it is super bad for the reef/environment so we all felt we were doing our part for ecology (lol).
It is very mild and delicious. I still prefer Snappa, Parrot or Jack but it was good.

Just out of morbid curiousity, what happens if you eat the spines???

Gerry - hmm not sure - the spines have no meat so if they puncture your skin I am sure it will HURT and according to Wikepedia - when alive venom can cause systemic effects such as vomiting, fever and sweating and has been lethal in a few cases. But properly cleaned they are not harmful - the fish I bought had no spines.

Sweetness - Thank you for taking the time to share so many beautiful pictures and write about your experiences in Negril. I loved every single picture and update. I felt like I was there. Enjoying the amazing food, breathing in the fresh sea air, spending time with beautiful people and relaxing into the Island vibe. Every update took me back to Jamaica and I appreciated it so much. I'm sad that it had to come to an end because I loved being their vicariously through your images and words.
But you know you'll be back.

This would be perfect!! I remember Clarity and I once chatting during a webcast about how beautiful and bright you are and how great it would be to meet you.
Doesn't it just renew your faith and happiness that a common love of a place can bring such people together? That is why I convinced Raul to come back so we could do the boardie bash, but this April may just be panning out to be even bigger and better than that! Come on everyone.....group trip in April! Sweetness, thank you so much for the invitation to your soon come back party. We all REALLY had a great time!! I feel honored that you invited all the boardies. The food was off the hook as well as the company. I just made it back home about 10pm tonight and YES, I am already back on the computer, since I didn't bring mine on the trip. BTW, lionfish is awesome!! We had some brown stewed and it was great!! Hope we meet pon da rock soon!! After many trips, I didn't think it could get better.........but it did. Had a fabulous trip!! Love ya gal!!!

Morning Laurel - no definate dates yet for my next reach. Depends on timing for visa meeting in Kingston which "should" be April or May but could be sooner (lol). Glad you enjoyed the photos/reports - I love doing them. Hope to see you there and spend more time bobbing in the sea :cool:
