Beres Hammond concert
The Jungle

Also heard sunset after dark is having a party. I am planning on possibly one of their huge burgers and then a Beres Hammond show for desert.. Gonna play it by ear though..
Thanks but not really into the jungle scene, wish the shows where still at the Negril Escape, really liked the venue there for a show. Thinking about seeing Toots though the following week. Is Valentines not really a big deal? We usuaally don't travel until later in Feb.This will be Karens first caribbean birthday, thanks for your ideas. Cheers!!!
Valentines Day is big here!
I'll check around town & post if I see any 'events'....
but you can't beat a romantic dinner...Ivans, Rockhouse, Kuyaba, Hungry Lion, Xtabi or choose one of your personal favs...3 Dives & Canoe always rocks it for me...places like Charela, Seasplash & others will probably be offering Valentine menus.
Beautiful fresh flowers can be purchased from Floral Fantasy at the round about...upstairs at Coral Seas Plaza.
On the simple but nice side...a gorgeous view is offered from Swordfish where you can enjoy yummy Devonhouse ice cream after your meal...
hahahah.............i was thinking that!!
I have booked Ivans for when my wife and I are in negril, sounds like a great restauarant with the sunset at 6pm.............get some flowers delivered to the restaurant? have fun, can't wait for your trip report!!
Simon and cindy.
Seastar soon come............
how about going to Bentleys Crab House.......very personal and romantic
pick your Spouses favorite Jamaican meal and Bentley will prepare it.......
bring your own bottle of wine(s) and enjoy!
Cool Runnings, Marko
The Rockhouse has excellent lobster. We were in Negril over Valentines last year, we stayed at the NBC and had always walked by the Rockhouse, so we decided to stop, had a excellent meal and the price was right. I wish we were there for Valentines this year, I will miss it. Enjoy where ever you decide to go for Valentines.
Bentely's is a 100 yards up Ella Drive........off da West End Road
looking up Ella Dr on da left you have No Limit Bar and on the right L&M Grocery Store.........
quick red plate route taxi ride to Ella Drive from SeaStar Lane.....
wouldn't walk the West End Road unless you staying at SamSara, Blue Cave Castle and Moonlight
Ella Drive is also across from Pee Wees
Cool Runnings, Marko
Thanks all, we probably try bentleys on second half of our stay, when we move to seastar. Cheers!
You know I have never been to the Jungle and I know its not "my thing" either, I too loved the Escape venue, but I will suck up my preconceptions and follow the music. I am packing two fair trade party dresses and like it or not--jungle here I come. (I'll write when I get home and let ya know if I survived the jungle grrrrrrrrrrrr)
We’re staying at Seasplash and they are planning Valentine’s Day specials at their new and better-than-ever bar and restaurant. (More about the great changes here in a trip report when I get that far, having too much fun so far to write.)
According to Jim, there will be free printed photos for every couple having dinner at Seasplash on Valentine’s Day. Full lobster dinner for $24US. Appetizers include the age-old Jamaican-aphrodisiac curried mussels! haha Just the thing to have before the Beres Hammond Concert! After all these years this will be my first night out in Jamaica, believe that? But can’t miss the opportunity to see him live in Negril. Can’t wait to see what it’s like.
It’s been big fun at the bar here, the happy hour specials are every day 12-2 pm and 5-7 pm -- $150J Red Stripes and $300J rum punch. Really nice people. I’ve missed my bedtime 2 nights in a row – oops.
Save us a seat, we can't wait to get there, we are looking forward to our stay at seasplash. Cheers!
You betcha Canuk Couple -- come join the party! Plenty of seats at the new bar - it's been jamming every night. I heard music way late last night, which was so refreshing after many years of earlier-closing bar without many people - didn't mind one bit that we could hear it from our room, in fact it was lovely.
Canoe Bar has a great Valentine's special on.....................
copied from patty_k's announcement in another thread:
"Valentines special a Canoe Bar.......
Join us this valentines day for 2 for one lobster @ 2300J and free chocolate brownie dessert for couples! Don't forget our great selection of wines to accompany your meal, and french press coffee to go with dessert! "
Mrs Wilson....curried mussels???? OMG, I have never, ever seen mussels on a menu in Negril. Mussels marinara is truly a favorite of mine. I'm sure they rock curried. Next trip going to have to check the new and improved Seasplash. Enjoy!!
