I was wondering if anyone has any opinions about Sunset on The cliffs? I haven't heard it mentioned too much on here.

I stayed there last month, and it was OK except for someone stole my friend's laptop on his last day .... Security is a bit of an issue. But the property is a good value -- if you don't have anything valuable, that is.
I agree with Gerry. I'd stay away.
We stayed there March 2010. We also had things go missing. Manager didn't deal with it well. Not impressed. I also like hot water, we didn't have any for most of the stay. IMO, keep looking!
Oh ya, I didn't have hot water at Sunset at Cliffs, either. After four nights of not having a hot shower for the first time in my 47-year life (zero water pressure, too), I was REALLY happy to check in to Seastar Inn and run that hot water, baby ....
It's unfortunate that such a nice property has these issues. The staff is great, too. They just need the support of management in making the place secure (stepping it up a notch).
Well after reading these issues..I'm quite miffed. Im currently staying here for the 5th year in a row & not once have I never ever had one thing stolen/or water pressure/hot water issues. I'm here for five weeks & always look forward to coming back here & see the crew here. They store alot things for me so I don't have to bring but my personal things. I deal with owner June Romeo to make my reso's & am never disappointed. Frankly they spoil the hell out of me here with all they do. I've been coming here 20 years now & I live this property..every room is on the sea..& dam close to it too..that's one of the reasons I like it here. I do have a laptop with me here as well as other electronic stuff & never worry about it..at the same time I wiil tell you a camera was stolen out of a room here earlier this week but we know the gest staying next to them took but it couldn't be proven...they addmitted to leaving there open...wide open & someone saw opportunity..always lock up..common sense tell you to do that.
brasi are you sure you have your info right on overnight security..cause when I come home after a late one he's always there.
I'd rather PM the info, as I don't want to get anyone in trouble, but I won't be staying there again. I edited my last post as it was not clear enough.
Deja vu:
"...at the same time I wiil tell you a camera was stolen out of a room here earlier this week but we know the gest staying next to them took but it couldn't be proven..."
You must stay in the only room with constant hot water and good pressure then... I was part of a group, 4 rooms total. 2 rooms experienced theft (not major like a laptop, but theft none the less) and all of us went without hot water for the majority of the week. I repeatedly hear the same complaints from others who have tried staying there. It is a beautiful property but that's not the only thing we need to consider.
Well, I stayed four nights, and later in the week Brasi stayed four nights, so it was almost like I was there for eight cause I hung out with Brasi a few of the days -- and, overall, several nights there was no security in sight at night.
Also, the way the property is designed, it's dicey. You can enter through the driveway and gain access to the rooms on the right side of hotel (main guest area) through the dark with a bunch of trees and bushes in the way if someone might be looking out.
Plus the place is extremely guest-friendly and local-friendly, with a lot of mixed couples Jamaicans and USA/Canadian being paying guests in the hotel, so it's tough for security especially considering there is only ONE security guard plus a few sketchy friends who hang out but are never in uniform and for all we know could be in on the burgleries (or not).
On top of that, old-style real keys. Say there a few copies circulating for various rooms, all you have to do is knock on the door to know the guest is probably not inside the room.
Then again, no one ever took my raft. I pumped it up the first day, and it was there 11 days later floating in the pool ....
Thank you everyone for your opinions! You've given us a lot think about. I can't say enough how great it is to have this community to turn to for information.
Thanks again!
I prefer watching the sunset on the beach not on the cliffs.
