smirnoff apple vodka
Belvedere and Grey Goose
This is an easy one!
Hands down! No Question!
Three Olives Cake Vodka!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yum!
Attachment 11471
*Mix it with some pineapple juice and a splash of grenadine and it tastes EXACTLY like a pineapple upside down cake!!!!!
Try Tito's if you can find it. Hand distilled in Texas. Has beaten Goose in taste tests. I have been getting 750's for under 17 bucks.
Finally a question I have LOTS of expertise in! Gail, I used to stock a bar for years, it was awhile back, but I used to keep 3 or 4 as our staples, and branch out to flavoured ones during the summer tourist season (in your case, winter). IMHO, althought the flavoured ones are excellent, you are limited to what drinks you can make with them.
From lowest to highest in price, approximately...
Smirnoff
Absolut
Skyy
Stoli (my favourite!)
Grey Goose (higher end, more expensive)
I love Ciroc! Ciroc Berry is fabulous! I haven't really tried all the other flavors of the other vodkas.
Grey Goose and Stoli.
I am a Ciroc gyal. I like the original and the Coconut Ciroc.
Also, like Grey Goose and Absolut.
Delta, I am bringing down a couple of bottle of Coconut Ciroc and Peach Ciroc.
Gail,
I don't think that the flavored Vodkas would be a good investment, but that's me.
Taste wise......Stoli first, Grey Goose second. If you are looking for a bargain Vodka, Nikolai is a very good choice for the $$
For some reason, I find Grey Goose tastes better than Stoli in a traditional dry vermouth martini....
Kettle One for special occassions. Stoli for every day use!!!
Just make sure you have plenty of olives on hand for martinis :)
Luvs: I know whose room I'm going to be in!!!! LOL
i did find a bargain vodka that doesn't give hangovers (at least not to those i know who have tried it) and is actually pretty decent; svedka. I use it all the time to make my jolly ranchers!
Delta, gotta agree on Svedka. I first bought it at the airport in Mobay many years ago before I had ever heard of it. Later, found it at home. For mixed drinks, it is really smooth. For martini's etc, prefer Grey Goose or Ciroc.
Have you tried RAIN organic? Distelled SEVEN times..... So Smooth. Just my 2 cents worth.
Gail, would you also consider having Jamaican vodka in the bar? Hands down, the best on the island is Spasskaya (I may have spelled this incorrectly). And yes, it doesn't sound Jamaican nor does the label "look" Jamaican - but it is so smooth it is wicked and tastes great just with an ice cube or two. Wish everyone wanting vodkas "from home" would be at least be willing to give the island product a taste. Everyone I've turned on to Spasskaya always winds up bringing bottles home.
If you do flavored vodka - stick to the simple like Apple and Mandarin. has anybody tried those Pinnacle flavors -- I did a tasting and most were way too sweet!!
Ciroc Flavors are really good - Peach and Coconut are delicious and I've heard berry is also good.
Peach Ciroc with a splash of ginger ale and cranberry juice for color - YUMMY!
I don't think folks are adverse to trying Jamaican vodka. I for one didn't know there was such a thing. I have learned something today!
I must be the only person on the planet who has never tried flavored vodka. Flavored moonshine, yes. Flavored vodka, no! Although the apple vodka sounds delicious!
Cold and Free!
Tito's.
That dirt cheap central American vodka that you can buy for 6 or 7 bucks at any store in Negril. Can't remember the name but mixed with juice or ting and it does the trick. You could sell it mixed by the pitcher and make a killing.
I know its a Vodka thread, but do you sell Tanqueray/Gordons Gin? Sorry, but thats my fav liquor and I have trouble finding it in Negril and I dont drink enough to buy a whole bottle from duty free.
BECAUSE :
Number 1 .............. Tito is made in USA ............. I always buy American products if they are close in price, quality, availability, etc..... to something made in a foreign country .......... (personal exception - I buy local products when in foreign ......... but does not apply to France as I would never go there)
Number 2 ........... The French are too theoretical....................... There’s an old joke about an international committee watching a new invention at work. While everyone else is impressed, the French commissioner worries, “It obviously works in practice, but will it work in theory?”
Number 3 ............ They are rude .............. The "Paris Syndrome" is a medically recognised type of depression which afflicts foreign visitors to Paris, caused by the sustained rudeness of French people to outsiders. I am not kidding ! !

Seems this illness has taken the place of gout -- a problem of the privileged which is hard to sympathize with.
Number 4 ............. Because they took the cow pie…................. and turned it into a hat ................. Well, that's what the beret is, isn't it?
Number 5 ............ Because they love Jerry Lewis ............ They even gave him the French Legion of Honor, one of the rarest honors in the entire world ..................... it is traditionally awarded only to victorious French generals ................. rare honor indeed ! ! !
Ketel One or Tito's
TITO's of course...hands down!!
@ S&J - I was wondering when you'd weigh in :-)
Thanks to all of you experts!!
Gail Jackson

Square One is another American vodka (Idaho) and I like it better than Tito's. Also like Chopin, Ciroc, Beluga and this weird Polish stuff flavored with buffalo grass (great in martini).
I don't drink Vodka but TICKLED TO DEATH to see everyone commenting on Tito's, made here in Austin where I live... I am a huge fan of family business and hand made goods like this, Austin is full of entrepeneurs. YEAH TITO's! Personally I figure I'll try Vodka when they make a machine for it. Like we have coffee makers, espresso makers, french press makers, I figure why can't someone come up with a machine that you put a potato in, close the press & it drips out Vodka
Absolut, or Dripping Springs which is made just outside Austin, Texas! It's better than Tito's...
Voting for Goose and Absolut. I also like Kettle One.
I can't tell the difference. GASP.......Red Stripe with a ting chaser....
