YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And check out this post I made a while back about Ziggy Marley hosting his own show on The Joint
It happens the first Saturday of every month at 12 noon (Eastern Time)

Marley, Thats so cool thanks.
We listen to the joint whenever we're in the car that has Sirius.
Thanks:)
Yes we do. And I love all the choices on I tunes when you go to the radio stations. Just had it on while I cooked and cleaned. Hook it up and you have Reggae for hours!!
No problem!!
It is very cool....the first month he interviewed Jimmy Cliff....it was a great interview, lots of good stories and laughs
Last month he interviewed Santa Davis, who is his drummer now, but he has been in the reggae field for many years and played with many other well known groups.
Can't wait for who he interviews next month! He plays some real great music during his show, but the interviews so far are my favorite part!
The more you listen to the joint the more you pick up on glaring omissions in artsts they just done play at all. Agree that itunes, along with sky.fm, are much more varied and IMO better.
We use pandora. You can select up to 100 artists, hit the shuffle button and listen for hours.
YES...LOVE THE JOINT!!! I renewed my subscription because of that it. Love Pandora too!
I bring my XM set up to listen to the Joint when I'm there for my 5 week stay in the Westend & get a great signal...wouldn't leave home without it!! Been bringing it for years now.
Back 3 weeks almost...miss Negril!!
I finally broke down & bought a new car, got a good deal on a nice little Kia Rio, & it came w/ 3 mths Sirrius. Didn't take me but a couple days to find the Joint & pretty much all I listened to! I let the subscription run out, now they're offering me all kinds of deals to come back, free months, 5.99 a month, etc. "Sirriously" considering it for that station alone. Normally I listen to KLBJ "talk" Radio & not a whole lot else...
The best music service out there right now, IMHO, is Spotify.
$9.99 a month and you can stream any music ever recorded, or download anything ever recorded, to your heart's content...vs. the same price for one album from iTunes.
I like reggae, but I am not a huge fan, so you're on your own as to specific artists/genres but I haven't ever serached for anything and not found it.
Yep, listening to The Joint for years. DirecTV also has a Reggae music channel.
I have to agree with Brasi;
Spotify is amazing!!
Every song you could ever want and awesome playlists.
100% Better than Pandora or Slacker.
I think you can still sign up for free (I signed up for free 4 months ago, not sure if anything has changed since then)
You just need to pay $9.99 if you want the App on your iphone/Droid or streaming without any commercials
Definitely worth checking out.
I'm obsessed with spotify right now.:D
Yes, it is free except for the mobile "premium" service...great for gym...trips to Jamaica etc!
I am a Spotify freak too Clarity. It's amazing.
I almost spit up my soup on the "honeybadger don't care" comment. OMG that is hilarious.
I also listen to KJAH internet radio, they have really good selection of old and new artist.
We have Dish Network and I listen to this channel ALLLLL the time.
Rooster, what is an XM setup?
I have Sat. radio in my truck, love, love, love the joint. Would love to have in on vacation in Negril!
Just went to the Spotify website. Is this a music sharing site (ala Kaaza and Napster)?
The "Joint" was a replacement for Dish when they dropped two other Reggae station, from their Menu, quite some time ago......
here is more info on this station...... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Joint_%28Sirius_XM%29
Spotify is legal...it is a hybrid between music sharing and downloading.
A monthly fee entitles you to make unlimited albums/playlists/songs available "offline" on your smartphone or computer. If you stop your subscription, those songs disappear from your library.
I look at it like this: for $10/month, i.e. SPOTIFY PREMIUM, I own almost every album ever recorded. By comparison, one iTunes album download can cost $10. It takes the Netflix 'streaming model' and applies it to music. I love it. You can share music with friends too, etc.
If you don't subscribe, you have to have cell service or Internet access to listen to the songs you want to hear and you get ads (they play between every 3 tunes).
