Anything on the Country Country Menu (no photos, sorry) Also ackee and Saltfish at Just Natural(1st pic) Lobster eggs Benedict at Xtabi (2nd pic) i.and calaloo omletter at Kuyabal (3rd pic). Ackee and Saltfish at Xtabi thrown in the mix for good measure. I love breakfast!
i love the breakfasts at Charela. Great coffee, wonderful French toast and a serene setting
Alfreds Jamaican breakfast. Best ackee and the price make it number 1.
Country Country banana pancakes rock ...my 2 cents
Oh my goodness. I'm drooling stop.
Chooch, you are soooo right! Country Country's breakfast are the best! Banana pancakes, Honey French Toast, and Don loves the Jamaican breakfast with ackee, saltfish and callaloo! Be still my heart! (and the omelets are great too!)
Irieworld - Awesome pictures! We're definitely going to have to visit Jus Natural on our next trip.
Breakfast at Xtabi looks really delicious too..
those breakfast dishes all look so good!
I remember the breakfasts at Sandals Negril -- they had good Nova lox, and that's hard to find in Negril.
ALFREDS!!! Big breakfast and it's cheap!!
Kuyaba, if you want to splurge!
I like the breakfast at Country Country as well. The French toast is killer!
mmm Country Country french toast, I am with you on that Booger! That was one of the best things about staying there, getting breakfast every morning.
Country Country - banana pancakes are terrific!
Thanks everyone!
CocoLaPalm has great breakfasts. Love the banana bread!
Breakfast tomorrow is leftover ackee & coco bread, if I don't finish it off tonight for a snack, LOL! I did go ahead & make it to Hi Lo & laid in some eggs, callaloo, bread etc & a few veggies from the veggie truck, so looks like the best breakfast tomorrow will be in the LittleBirds Nest! It's only the best cause I'm eating it in Negril... even the simplest fare taste like heaven here :)
Anny's on the beach is the best, and then Montana Cafe across the street from Fun Holiday...best and cheapest ackee and saltfish there is. :)
What exactly is ackee and saltfish?
OMG Gerry you haven't had ackee and saltfish yet? It's only Jamaica's national breakfast dish, you have GOT to try it. Ackee is a fruit, and has the consistency and texture of scrambled eggs, with a mild taste that is seasoned by saltfish.

Best callaloo, cheese and jerk sausage omelet---hands down Kuyaba. Maybe the best deck setting too...
Best value to authenticity ratio is Alfred's.
We kept meaning to try out Cosmo's....we have consistently heard good things...
I limited myself to best beach breakfast......which isn't the best breakfast in Negril....IMHO....YMMV
For an excellent breakfast whether it be traditional Jam or Foreign style....Sweet Spot is #1 - # 2 would be alfreds... all you got to do is see all the locals come out of sweet spot to maybe get a hint something good going on there for breakfast..
OH..but its across the street on the beach-road ,not actually on the beach..but with food this good why should that hamper you from trying it out???

Country Country
pictures speak a thousand words....my little peace of heaven, awesome food, setting, view....steps from the sea.... :)
My favorite breakfast of all time wat at Country Country years ago when the restaurant was out by the road. I was pondering my choice when a fisherman handed of a stringer of fish tothe cook. I decided on the Jamaican Fish breakfast and had to chill while the cook cleaned the fish, chopped the veggies and cooked it all up. The beach venue is much nicer, but could I still get that Fish breakfast? --Marblehead
Marblehead, I don't recall a Fish Breakfast at Country Country in the past few years, but I have seen the cooks buying fish from the fisherman who uses an old windsurf board and spear for fishing.
I'm partial to Coco's banana bread! I have to agree...Country Country's breakfast looks freaking awesome! That may be going on the list!!
Ted and I had to meet someone at Canoe yesterday morning and opted for the Jamaican Breakfast which was ackee & saltfish, calalloo, fried dumplings. It was so yummy and very economical. This morning it is roasted breadfruit at home.
Tamminator is fond of Canoe for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And although it is in my top ten breakfasts because of the setting/view...I never thought of it as a beach restaurant. There IS a beach there, the DO have beach chairs and we HAVE seen plenty of bathers/snorkelers there. Its just that its.....such a cliff-vibe place...and it is not on 7mile beach. Tam finally figured out how to properly use the French Press...
I am going to give away a secret.......our favorite breakfast place isn't on the beach......its Jus Natural. Don't miss their reasonably priced dinners. I am partial to their egg sandwich for breakfast, but their omelets are fine. Tam loves the giant mug of great coffee with a giant shot of Rum Creme.
I gave up on ackee and saltfish for more than once every seven days. Tam doesn't care for saltfish, but she thinks the ackee is a funny thing for a fruit and loves it!
Country Country does have a Janaican breakfast, ackee & saltfish, calalloo, fried dumplings - I don't imagine Saltfish is fresh fish?
I loved our dinner at Canoe Bar, Just Natural's big mug of coffee with rum cream sounds great!
FireFly serves breakfast and it's very good.......and you can't beat their prices
Cool Runnings, Marko
The time we tried to have breakfast at Country Country it was not very early in the morning, but they were still serving b-fast. The 1st several things that we ordered were "finished", so we had to settle on something we didn't really want. I suppose since the folks that are staying their get b-fast free and maybe get there earlier then we were, we were out of luck! They did seem confused that we were paying customers!
I totally agree with a good b-fast at Firefly (in that area), and they will serve it at anytime for you as well (or at least they used to)!
AND, yes, the b-fast at CCLP is very nice right on the water and their bannana bread and their ackee and salt fish are great! The bananna bread is included, along with fruit, with the free continental b-fast if you're staying there....
Those pics bring back some good memories....and agree that Country Country breakfast is all that. I'll be there soon enough.Quote:
