Woke up this morning

And I have been betrayed by my sinus. Yep 3 days before I leave and I'm sick! This sucks monkey balls! I'm on my way to work so I can't take any sinus medicine. If I do I will be super sleep; even with the daytime stuff.:mad:

GO DIRECTLY TO THE DRs. My husband was sick 2 wks ago. Went to Dr and was told it was a sinus infection. Gave him an antibiotic. Didn't work. Ended up with bronchitis. Gave him a Z Pack (5 days of meds) and he was better almost immediately. You are too close to paradise to do over the counter meds. Go for the gusto!

If you don't have the time to get into a doctor, you should try the clinic inside Walgreens or Kroger's (if you have Kroger's near you). They can prescribe meds. I also second the Mucinex, get the Mucinex-D from behind the pharmacy counter. Last time I had a sinus infection, I went to the Kroger's Little Clinic and was in and out of there within the hour with my Z-pack and Mucinex-D, felt so much better within a day. The plane ride will be miserable with a sinus infection.

I just got over being sick with something similar......I ask my doc what to do before flying in a few weeks he said to take two 30mg of sudafed a half hour before you fly and a couple squirts of Afrin nasal spray. Keeps passages open in case your ears don't pop like they should. Good Luck and hope you feel better :)

I'm with the doctor suggestion...if you tell your doctor you are leaving ASAP for a vacation they may give you something strong to kick it quickly.

It's good to be prepared with prescription medication in case it's a sinus infection, this way it will clear up super fast.

I flew like that once....my ears would not clear "pop" upon landing...I was miserable...couldn't understand anybody questions.....and the next day it turned into a BAD earache........Go seek modern witchdoctor...:)

Meanwhile - just like "Mom" says -> drink plenty of fluids, tea, soup, etc. Mucinex is great for getting that nasty mucus out of your lungs & sinus. Remember to pack some OTC cold meds to take with you - in addition to any meds the doctor prescribes - just in case.

Can I catch the cold/sinus thing from just reading this post???? Anyway... heading to the Dr this morning to get a fix because next Saturday I want to wake up in paradise and be able to smell all she has to offer.

Good thing we went... came home with his&hers Zpacs... should be good in a few days. Very thankful it happened now instead of next weekend.

Got my zpac and sudafed so I should be good. Little guy goes Monday morning. I have repacked my luggage and only need to make a quick walmart run.

Stopped at the grocery store on the way home from the doc.... going down the isle, crossed paths with a couple. She had a dozen or so braids with red/green/gold beads, he had a cap with Jamaica flag, both with fresh burn/tans... I asked if they had been to Ja recently... they just got back the night before from Ochi, said they go every two years for the last 10 or so. Love it when there is a random Jamaica connection at home.

OH NO! So much for all of my good advice....I am in the same boat too. Throat hurts, ears hurt....Got my Z-pack today! The doctor says if it turns out to be viral, I can always implement PLAN B - SUN, RUM & WARM SALT WATER (on the beach) :)

Awww sorry you got sick. I'm feeling so much better and the little one does as well. In hoping they give him something tomorrow to clear the rest of this right up.

I hate getting sick right before something important! I'll go to the doctor in a heartbeat and tell her to give me a shot of something STRONG and a prescription LOL.

Well little one has a sinus and eye infection. Because we leave on 16 hours she gave him antibiotics. Had we been home she said that he would have just let it run its course ! All packed and im under the weight limit. Just need to wash and take out trash!

Go get that Zpack!!!
