We looked for it on Friday but didn't see it. We were up at Catcha on the cliffs so maybe we were too far......however, we did our own from the cliffs and it was awesome....we did take pictures and I will share them as soon as we get them downloaded. It was more like 10 that we did, definitely not 100 which I am sure would have been an amazing sight, but we all still really enjoyed launching them from the cliffs...it was definitely magical!
It was someone on the board who was planning the wedding, so maybe once they recover from the festivities, they'll post pictures. In the mean time, I'll look forward to seeing your pics, when you get the time. I've sent out 3-4 of them, here at home, they looked great, but I always imagined sending them over the ocean...
Yes it was Farmer the boardie's daughter .....as Lisa said "The Farmer's Daughter" wedding
I really wanted to see them all go up too, I can imagine seeing 100 of them take off over the ocean.
They really are cool, and lighting them and sending them off the cliffs was pretty special too. I think it might just become a new tradition.....we even had some of the staff and other guests join us at Catcha to light them and send them off, we wrote some of our wishes on them too....it was a fun time. I think there might even be video of it.
We have lots of photos and video footage to go through so this trip should be well represented once we all get the time to do it.....as for today I will most likely be sleeping from the moment I get home from work! LOL
I sure hope the wedding party was able to send off their lanterns. I know Rob/Lisa were at the wedding too so I am sure if they did it, someone if not many someones have pictures of it!
We saw the beautiful lanterns & it seemed to go off without a hitch. Rob has a pic but not sure how good it would be to post...I'm sure Farmer has some great pics & hopefully will post a few!
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! Too bad we couldn't see them from up on the cliffs....I thought for sure we would be able to.....or maybe we missed it. We were having dinner outside at Ivans from about 7:30 or 8pm on
They flew at exactly 10pm that night!
Ah ok...I thought they had said 9pm....dang, we may have been back in the bar by that time...funny enough we came out and launched ours around probably 11pm...ugh, I bet we JUST missed them...dang, I bet that was so cool!
Ugh, would have liked to see that but Shauna we sure did have fun with ours! That was special. :)
That's great... good to know that they DID go off. I can be patient, as long as I know there are pictures and/or video coming!!:)

Oh Wow!!!!! How cool......so sorry we missed seeing that!
Thanks Bob.....and hi to Cindy too ( The "Lurker") lol.
Was great meeting you guys!
Here are some photos I took of the ones we let off from Catcha on Friday evening around 11pm....so we probably JUST missed seeing the ones on the beach! But we were definitely celebrating along with you guys and wishing the couple well!
We had a lot of fun sending these lanterns off over the water...it was a great ending to our trip as we set them off with Booger, Sandie, Jon and Tizzy who were leaving on Saturday. The staff at Catcha even joined in and had a lot of fun with them as well!

These lanterns look magical for a special occasion- great pics! BUT I have to ask- what are they made of and what becomes of the material once you set them out over the ocean? Are they "green"? Thanks to anyone that knows. IRIE! *IG
thanks so much for posting these pictures!!!! I can only imagine how magical it would have been to see them in person. They are beautiful.
I've been assuming the biodegradable lanterns have been used...they contain materials such as reg paper/rice paper, bamboo or wool attachments for support of the flame area...all 100% biodegradable (and quickly) as opposed to some that contain metal....but this question is obviously for those that have used them.
If you are planning to do this for an event...please make sure the products are safe for our sea/land...metals etc take a loooong time to break down & can be dangerous for the environment.
Ours were made from rice paper, bamboo and wax and were completely safe
Oh, ok Shauna...thanks ALOT hahahaha :) Truly
What a memorable night <3
Bob thanks for posting the pic of the wedding lanterns....so beautiful. Wishing the happy couple a lifetime of love and blessings!
