Best Seaside Cottage at Xtabi?
For our second trip to Negril, we are going to say up on the cliffs for a couple of nights. We've decided on one of the Seaside Cottages at Xtabi, but haven't made reservations yet. Does anyone that's stayed there like one of the cottages better than another, or are they all pretty comparable?

Those r the two-story ones? What is so nice about them?
Re: Best Seaside Cottage at Xtabi?
Bigger, more privacy. I'd stay in any of them but #1 and #4 are definitely the favourites.
Re: Best Seaside Cottage at Xtabi?
We stayed in the one on the other side of the restaurant, can't remember the number without looking, but it was much cheaper, and we absolutely loved it. seems very private, great view of the jumping cliff, and the little beach below the room is great entry and exit for snorkeling, or just sitting and enjoying the water.

I think No. 4 is the most photographed hotel room in Negril .....
Re: Best Seaside Cottage at Xtabi?
We just spent 6 nights in #4 and it was awesome! I would definitely stay there again. The main floor has an outdoor shower, living area, kitchenette, fridge and a large balcony cliff side. The loft has a king size bed and a second bathroom. And I did take a few pictures, lol.

wpyogi - I've booked #4 for a few days mid-April 2013. I'm wondering if you have any tips regarding the cottage? I'm wondering how warm it gets inside in April, did you find it had good cross ventilation? What about the upstairs bedroom, is there any opening windows, was it quite hot? I saw your comment about the LOUD fan in the bedroom!
Thanks!

Cottage 4 is our favorite and have stayed in it twice. We have been inside of #1 and the thing I did not like was the stair ladder to the bedroom/loft. #4 has a regular staircase and a huge outdoor nudie shower. Also, there is shade area on the deck and in my opinion it is larger. Just my opinion.

Hey Melody- Yay! You will have a great time in #4. I never thought it was too hot inside the cottage. #4 has great ventilation. A few mornings, I would sit out on the deck and read...........and cook, lol! All I had to do to cool off was grab a glass of water and hang out in the living area for a few minutes. Yes, the fan upstairs can be LOUD when it is on high. It is a high powered fan to say the least. The particular night in question when I noticed how loud the fan was involved a lot of partying which left me incapable of getting out of bed in the middle of the night to turn it down, LOL. It didn't wake me up any of the other 5 nights we stayed there.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The staff takes excellent care of you. A few shout outs to Sharon, Omar P., Omar S., Dwight and Kevin. Thanks for the reminder, btw. I need to book April 2013 as well:)
Re: Best Seaside Cottage at Xtabi?
Thanks wpyogi & Aud-A-Sea! I'm relieved that we won't be sweltering inside. I'm going with a friend and Natasha informed me that they can bring in a single bed - is there plenty of room for one in the living area? The two bathrooms will be great - us two ladies won't have to share! Were there enough towels, did you bring your own beach towels for outside?
Did you find everything you needed in the kitchenette? I don't plan to cook, but definitely looking forward to having a coffee pot, fridge, and perhaps the ability to heat up some leftovers?
I'm getting excited already! Only been to Negril once, in February, and stayed on the beach but visited Xtabi for a few hours. We're planning to stay on the beach for a few days in April as well...as of right now, we've booked Xtabi for the first 3 nights of our week in Negril, not sure if it would be better to switch to doing the beach first? I suppose either way would be good! RyanP, which way are you booking, beach or cliffs first?
:D

Melody- We always had plenty of towels. Sharon took great care of us. We also brought our own beach towels.
There is plenty of room for a single bed downstairs. The wall to the right when you walk in the door (behind where I was standing to take the photo) has a second couch that could be easily swapped out.
I had to go back and check my pictures for the kitchenette. We only used the fridge. There is a hot plate available.
And, note the curtains blowing in the breeze!

LOL, don't interpret +1's face as being unhappy. We were going on 30 hours of no sleep, and he was probably thinking something like, "Sweet Jeez, Woman! How can you have so much energy?! As I was running around the room snapping pictures.
We thought the same thing last April about beach or cliffs... Ended up booking cliffs first. Honestly, you can't go wrong because once you are there, everyting is irie. But I also think that the planning ahead is just as much a part of "the vacation"!
Re: Best Seaside Cottage at Xtabi?
Looks great, thank you!
And here I thought that was his "come hither", seductive pose!!!
I've pretty much been plotting, then planning my next trip since the day I returned home in February...so much so that I've got two trips booked, November & April (need a 2nd job).
:)

OMG, I was laughing so hard when I saw +1's face in this pic!
Too funny!
