I miss the water, I miss ackee, and I miss the tree frogs.

I miss the Negril.com webcasts, the ocean, the Red Stripe, and the jerk chicken!

The sound of the afternoon rain on our cottage rooftop, wrapped in the arms of my husband. And definitely the sub sandwiches.

Watching the sunset as the bartender whips me up something yummy in the blender!

I miss the great people that I hung out with in April.....

warm evenings spent on the veranda with Jamaican friends and family with great discussions on subjects ranging from politics to family histories amid much laughter and
cheer. Great memories.

Tooooooooo many to choose one,lol...Losing track of the day and the time. Walking up and down Norman Manley blvd all the way to the Cliffs...Visiting my friend Jabbie, a Rastafarian and Blessing him for his wisdom: Jabbie once said, "Why is it you Americans eat meat 2 or 3 times a day"? "You are killing yourselves".

The peeps, the music, the MOOD, the xtras that makes everyting fun. I really should be sleeping right now...but instead i am dancing to my own beats and surfing negril.com. Livin life!

Holding hands with Markus while snorkeling through the crystal clear ocean water off the cliffs, falling asleep to the sound of the waves at Banana Shout, Laughing with new friends at Ivans Bar, Negril.com webcasts, Dirty Bananas and Jerk chicken/shrimp/conch...I could go on and on but that's what I miss most RIGHT THIS MINUTE. :)

The sun, sand, subs, smells, smiles, stripes...

The simultaneous feeling of being excited and being relaxed at the same time! And knowing that I CAN do both at the same time! Sitting in my lounger with my Red Stripe and getting up and playing in the water whenever I want to. Enjoying all the activity going on around me and being as involved or completely removed from it, depending upon my mood.

Hard to explain...but that is how I feel.

I miss sitting at the bar at Ivans drinking a delicious drink, looking at an amazing view and listening to the constant laughs and stories from all my turtles as well as the staff.
I also miss the amazingly fresh and delicious food and fruits and yummy drinks everywhere. Pumpkin soup!

I miss waking up in the morning with the thought that I have a day in Jamaica ahead of me... And running into Gerry someplace on his scooter... :)

The world is not awake yet, and im having my first cup of blue mountain coffee with rum cream.

the smell of delicious food cooking everywhere ranks high - the people watching downtown also - and all the conversations with locals

Lots of things... The people, the vibe, the beach, turquoise water, tree frogs, dirty bananas, the food, the sounds, the smells.

eating at Just natural and listening to the sounds of Jamaica, movement of people, music in a distant.

I miss my people....like mad. I miss Jamaica. Period.

Vibrations, Dancehall, goats, jerk, stripes/subs, beautiful wata, sunsets, webcasts, De Bar, C&D, Catcha and all the ppl who make it feel like home, Chicken and his bus, the MOON.....

I really miss those dudes that strap speakers to the top of the car and drive around blasting riddim....I think I'm gonna do that here in Atx....livin this place up a little. :p

Did I mention the turtles? Above all else I am missing my fam <3

The SEA oh the SEA - that would be the THING......
but also the relaxed vibe, the freedom I feel, the warm Jamaican people and the amazing nature (sunsets, sealife, flowers, fruits, shells).

Sweetness....I'm adding to my answer....

I miss waking up and chatting with you and Minja over a cup of Blue Mountain and looking out over the cliffs....SIGH....such a gift.

In Negril, I can give 100% of myself to what is directly in front of me, whether that is a person, place or thing. I don't need to be anywhere, do anything or satisfy anyone. I can just be. The normal hustle and bustle of life and the worries that go with it don't seem to follow me to the island. For me, that is paradise and I haven't found a way to duplicate it anywhere else. Right now, that is what I miss about Negril.

That and the food, I really love the food...and the sounds...and the water. You know, it would be easier to articulate what I don't miss. :)

I miss that smell, kind of like burning wood...when there is a fire somewhere. When I smell it here in the states, it always brings me back to Jamaica =)

The calm. The water hitting the cliff. The otherly world sort of place that it is in Jamaica. My feet in this position:
