I really had a great time at the blue hole near roaring river. Rasta rob took us into the caves for a swim. It was ash Wednesday so there was a river side ( and in the river ) sermon. Huge trees there with narly roots. It was a half day trip for us. The blue hole that's just a deeep hole... newly redone with a nice pool n hammocks, that place was just relaxing! Boring almost but relaxing for sure no problems there.
Definitely worth the trip! Blue Hole at Roaring is a natural wonder! I would do it again in a heartbeat. We went with Francine from the Seastar, but there are a number of great drivers who could take you. O'Neill is one that comes to mind. Bring your camera. I lay on one of the little bridges and just listened to the roaring river for ages! it is a magnificent spot, second only in my mind to Glistening Waters. It's very Jamaica - once you go, you know!
How far is it time wise?
Roaring River and Blue Hole are a great 1/2 day trip just outside of Sav. Very relaxing, informative and spiritual experiece. I have a wonderful driver named Tyrone Williams.

The Blue Hole in Brighton?
Can someone post directions from Negril please? renting a car and wanting to drive to it.
I thought Blue Hole is in Brighton around 20 minute from Negril.
Blue Hole Brighton, about 25 min. Drive SE from Negril...an American Dr. And Manni? From J. Own the 'soon to be mineral springs resort'...go to trip advisor, some really good pics and reviews...and directions!

Posts are talking about 2 different Blue Holes - one near Brighton, one at Roaring River.
I've been to the one near Brighton - and yes, it is worth a few hours visit IMHO. http://blueholejamaica.ning.com/
Besides the Blue Hole, it has a nice pool, bar, clean bathrooms, and a volleyball court.
Most taxi drivers in Negril will know the way.
I don't know the whole route, but easiest is to take the A2 toward Sav. About 5miles out of Negril you take a right on the road where the Bike Stand is. From there, you'll have to ask - but I think there were a few signs, too.
